I’d put Seville ahead of Thompson now for the year. It wasn’t a fast sprint day and he still ran fast
Hard to say. Seville is/always one to look out for, but he gets stage fright, whereas Thompson is nails.
I wouldn't say nails. He didn't completely fall apart or anything but Thompson was in shape to win the 100 last year against Lyles but stage fright took the edge off his race.
Track and field is just like bodybuilding. If it wasn't for the drugs there wouldn't be any competitive events. Take away the sauce and there would be really poor showings.

You might be right, and he might have won with a good lean—but he always seems to lack in the last 30m, like he loses some coordination at high speed because he’s basically a power sprinter. I don’t see that as caving on the big occasion, I see it as a recurring deficiency in his race, which he hasn’t yet corrected.
Seville’s race, however, seems complete. To get faster, I think he just needs to do more of what he’s already doing. I think he can hit a mid-9.7 monster time this year, same as Thompson did. He’s that good, imo.
Americans will have a hard time matching those two. Speaking of which, where is Kerley? He has a shot, depending on what he’s been doing.

Seville’s putting up a good year, showing that he has matured. He is a serious contender for WC gold.
Watch this 9.86 and tell me it doesn’t remind you of Johnson 9.79–same stride, same cadence, same arm action, same position, etc. BJ had a different start, but Oblique also looked to have the lead from the gun.
VERY promising race profile, and he eased up a bit at the end. Finally!💪
Also, ALFRED!
Seville is only 20 years old. He's young. He'll get there.
