I got some fries at 5 guys to eat when I got home. It was only a 10 minute drive. Tried some in the car and blech. Threw them out when I got home. They don't know how to cook fries.
You should try something meatier. That's the guys specialty.
I don't like the guy's burgers. Gray meat sliders.
Portillo's started out great as a smaller chain outside Chicagoland. The kids love the burgers; I thought the Italian Beef Sandwiches with the hot and the sweet peppers, dipped, were great; and we all loved the milkshakes, plus the fries were very good. It has become monumentally unaffordable and the Italian beef went downhill. $23 for a milkshake and italian beef with fries? I crossed them off the list.
You americans should really get around to normalizing street food.
Where I live, a crappy burger from KFC or burrito bowl from chipotle or whatever, made by some kid who hates their job and with the profits split up between a million layers of management, is 1.5-2x the cost of a scrumptious wrap or curry made by some genius with a grill on the side of the road.

Americans are afraid of new things. Of course most of them haven't seen street food ever, since they never left the country.
All these chain restaurants are a safety net for the insecure American who rather goes to a mediocre place where he gets exactly what he expect instead of a "gamble" with an independent restaurant.
chain restaurants in general suck... support more local restaurants tbh
Nothing you get in a chain restaurant is fresh. (Maybe “Alice’s?” That garden on top of her Berkeley place was cool)
In fact most Americans don’t know how tree-or-vine-ripened fruit tastes. It’s a whole different thing. And don’t even mention that red light or “flavored” meats slathered with sauce to hide its “off” condition. I know, don’t buy; write complaints to appropriate agencies. Small voice in the wilderness. Really, don’t buy!

Think about your statement? How many permits, licenses and eternal piles of paperwork ( papers) do you need to start a restaurant in America? Street food is Illegal. Anyone caught serving the public ( even, homeless people) get arrested in America. So ... Street food , even a childs lemonaid stand, is illegal in America. Thats some Freedom!
Everything I wrote is Gosple. Do you know why you`re such a mess, America? You idiots downgrade the TRUTH and it will only Hurt YOU, Birdbrains! Wake up and Smell the Coffee! Or better yet, WORSHIPERS , then Go and try and Sell Coffee -as a Street vendor- and watch how fast you get locked up!
Last 2 times I went to a national chain steakhouse a black woman was screaming about her order and was chucking utensils and sauce/condiments at the waiter, the other time a group of cough cough 'teens' had dined and dashed and were laughing and dropping the F bomb and N word over and over as they proceeded to knock stuff off table as they fled the premises. What a lovely dining experience.
Culver's and Chick-Fil-A are the shizz. I've been to many different locations, so consistent. So good. I prefer Culver's.
Oh ya, 25 bucks for a really small handful of food that doesn't even fill you up. So great.....
Where do you live, california or new york? When I go to Chick-Fil-A, which is rare, I get the spicy chicken sandwich meal (fries/drink), a regular chicken sandwich, and the 8 count nugget. 20 and change. I was recently at Culver's, after an Ultra. Got a double burger meal (fries/drink), a single burger, the 4-piece tenders, and onion rings. $28. Boom. 155 pounds. Runner. Great is right!

It is more or less normalized in Los Angeles. Now we have grease stained sidewalks.
Why would I pay someone with a griddle on the sidewalk to make a taco out of garbage ingredients when I can have a taco made with good ingredients at home?

Now imagine having a restaurant in Los Angeles where the street food is legal, and having to jump through all kinds of hoops that the street vendor 100 yards up the street doesn’t comply with.
And then imagine that street vendor is an illegal immigrant and is also collecting various government “benefits” paid for by your taxes.

Americans don’t want to put up with the exploive diarrhea and endless flatulance that most “street food” promises.

Another lying menshevik who of course would never actually eat street food. A burger from KFC? A genius grilling on the side of the road? lol
