It sounds like it would cause a marathoner substantial problems?
Grok told me it is used to mask other substances. It also causes you to lose weight but I think you take it and it just flushes everything from your system (which is why you also lose weight).
On behalf of all Kenyan politicians I would like to take this opportunity to express our regrets for past bad blood and to invite you on a state visit. In the near future we would be honoured to appoint you chief anti doping officer and you would be tasked with fixing our broken anti doping programme.
How close is Kenya to being kicked out of world competition?
It's always been tough because of this veil of ignorance from Athletics Kenya and their "government" with respect to doping leading to this "well it's different from Russia in that it's not state sponsored or institutionalized therefore...." narrative.
But this should now be the breaking point of any tolerance. It's not enough to sit back and just say "oh well we are doing our best, what more can we do?" (shrugging shoulders) when clearly you aren't or you are utterly hopeless at doing it (I suspect it's a combination of both). They have had enough chances to rectify this cesspit of doping there and have failed. Time for a greater incentive to fix it - they need to be banned from competition until it's right.
"I'm not in the right place mentally or physically to race my best in London and I am therefore withdrawing,"
How good is that. Hopefully they can withdraw her absurd "world record" - though not sure the one we would go back to is any less doped and ridiculous as well.

YEEESSSS!!!!! Absolutely brilliant news. And let's see some more big names from Kenya/Ethiopia busted!!
Note to race organizers: stop inviting doping athletes from Kenya/Ethiopia to your races as they have been stealing money from our sport for decades now.
oh no wait, it's only the "crappy" ones that cheat right? The ones desperate to get up to the "level" of their elite countrymen and women.
What I want to know is how World Athletics still has agents like Frederico Rosa accredited given the volume of doping related sh-t his athletes have been involved in now for literally decades.
It can be spun both ways. Clearly there are no sacred cows in Kenya with bans for the likes of Asbel Kiprop or Ruth Chepn’getich. It also seems that as easy as people assert it is to beat the tests we have a wealthy (and resource-rich) Chepngetich apparently unable to do so.
the positive: dopers aren’t protected and there are the bans to prove that
the negative: perhaps it’s just a matter of time for the best athletes
We’ll see though. Marathoners like Chepngetich can gear up for 1/2 races a year and wallow away otherwise with indifferent results. Seems like that’s sort of what she was doing.
I tend to agree with how Coe/the AIU are handling Kenya, though I know that’s unpopular. Test them out the wazoo, and make sure they pay for it and all athletes at global competitions are thoroughly tested.
