The field seems a bit big, but wouldn't be surprised if Wanyonyi is chasing another fast time, especially on the track where the WR was set.
Will Brazier break 1:43 here?
Im geeked. The king (800m king. Jakob is the real king) has returned
An honestly legit post gets hammered. Such virtue signaling can only be found at LR.
Ok, if you want to call having functional Achilles tendons for the first time in 4+ years a PED, be my guest.
It is extremely difficult and painful to not just run, but live with the injury he had, and I speak from experience. As your tendons deteriorate, you increase the strain on other muscles in the chain. Easy runs start feeling harder and harder, then you slow down, then those slower paces become hard, rinse repeat. It did not just pop up at the 2021 trials - most likely he had been dealing with it longer than that, and it's impressive that he was able to run as fast as he did leading up to his first surgery. I can't emphasize enough how much it wears you down.
When I was finally able to run again after my surgeries, my speed came back very quickly. I was able to race faster than I had in the years leading up to surgery on much less mileage. I imagine this is similar to how he's feeling right now.
Blah blah. Brazier was having some mental issues which kept him off the track. Seeing Hoppel break his AR and run 1:41 set him off. Now he’ll do anything to get that status back.
It will be tough. Because from what we have seen so far from Donovan is a desire to run very conservatively in the opening 200/400 really just keep his tempo dead even the entire way. And in smaller meets like the Portland Track Festival you can do that and have a clear track in the final lap at 1.44.0 pace.
This will not be 1.44 pace - we saw what happened with Arop trying the "even tempo in a loaded DL race" strategy - he had so many bodies to navigate in the final 300m he had to work overly hard to break 1.43.
I wouldn't say it's impossible - I never thought I'd see Brazier running an elite meet again let alone sitting on a 1.43.81 seasons best so it's impossible to discount because he is a precocious talent. But if he is going to run under 1.43 he's going to have to do it in a very different way to what we have seen be his preference so far in his comeback.

Precociousness doesn’t apply to a 28 year old 800 runner.
I don't understand how people who watch this sport would ever be shocked that a high-performing athlete were using PEDs. I also don't understand why you would watch this sport if you are convinced and upset that PEDs are behind everyone's success.

But this is great to see.
I agree on the difference on how it plays out. Which is the datapoint on what we are missing on Brazier's comeback - how be handles a race which goes out in 49/50low rather than 52. Would love to see him attempt to commit to such a pace before USAs.

Please god Don run faster than Hoey and keep him off the team

Chase Jackson has thrown more than 25cm farther than anyone else in the world this year and yet her all time best stands outside the top 350 throws in history.

The days of unfettered drug use have gone.
Then surely this same pattern applies to all events?
Remember when Brazier ran down Amos after being in dead last? I don't think that will happen. I kind of doubt that he's gotten into his 2019 form, and the 800 has taken leaps and bounds since five years ago. I predict 1:43.01
I can't wait to see the great hype 'prodigy' burgin finish 7-8th. What are the excuses already being made going to be? Others doping? he's "injured"?
I'm not coping well with your disregard for the apostrophy and capital letter, and utter disregard for the difference between parentheses and quotation marks. Elsewhere, you also use 'insecures' as if it were a noun.
