"I think everyone kind of understands it right now, who's in the 1500m, how good it is right now... You have to be top five in the world to make this USA team."
The third US runner--Kessler, Strand, or Green most likely--certainly is not in the top 5 in the world. That was a dumb thing to say. It may reflect a lack of seriousness about the threat posed by newcomers P. Koech, Laros, and Habz.

This may have been pre Paris diamond league that this pod was recorded tbf. But even if it was recorded post Paris DL, he should feel that way because he represents team USA and it actually happened in the most recent world championship/olympics. Lot of things can and will change between now and Tokyo.
Winning a gold medal is a accomplishment but not the only thing that makes a successful running career. There are many ways to perform (Diamond League, World Championships and fast times) The Olympics are just another pinnacle track meet.
I decided to type up more of what he said about GST.

They approached me, and they were wanting to sign me fast because they wanted to announce the podium. They wanted to announce Kerr, Yared, and me as signing. And I think that was a huge part of it, because it's like, it's one thing if, yes, the money's good, but if the competition's not there, it's like, how will this be viewed? But then, I knew the competition was there.
So obviously, talked about it with my coach, but in my mind, it was like, the Olympic year, we were so, so dialed in on the Olympics. That was it.That was all that was on the calendar, really. You know, the next year, like this year, we can have some fun. We can do exciting races and also just be part of this new league that I feel like is pushing the sport forward, you know, however you want to view it. But it is pushing the sport forward.
And I felt like, hey, if I get on, say, the ground floor of it, at least as an athlete and be one of those athletes to help push the sport forward, yeah, it's a no-brainer. And obviously, they're paying well, so that makes the decision a little bit easier. But yeah, it was super exciting. And it was just like something that was a byproduct of my performance that I really couldn't have prepared for, but took it. And yeah, it was, obviously, now it's concluded suddenly. But it was very fun, very unique, different than any other professional race I've ever competed in

And you look at something like the Philly Grand Slam, where I was just blown away by, you know, the amount of people that were there. And then how engaged everyone was, it wasn't like, it was uneducated fans, like, everyone knew what was going on, everyone knew every athlete. But yeah, I really think it's, it's higher caliber races in the US that would make the difference, because all of our pro meets are like, at local high schools. And it's just kind of seems backwards. And I think people are wondering, like, why does no one care about track? Well, it's because it's part of it is how it's how it's presented to the public. I think if NFL teams are playing at high school, feels like there'd be less interest, like it has to be displayed correctly. I think Grand Slam was doing exactly that, like their broadcast was like off the charts. Just so good. And if you're delivered this, these great athletes in this beautiful way, like, that's what engages people. So I really just think more high caliber races in the States would do that.

Made the fewest mistakes and made the right choices at the right times. Different day, maybe different result but for all the Hocker haters, he got it right when it counted. Like Centrowitz.
There are always ifs, buts and maybes but Hocker was lucky Jakob drifted off the curb or he wouldn't have won.
The fact that he kicked twice in the final 100m to win the Olympic Gold medal showed to everyone that Hocker is the real deal and the greatest 1500m runner in the world on that day. Go USA!!! USA!!!
I don’t think you realize that hgh/semorelin truly does not make as much difference as you perceive. Not in doses that are out of the system in 6 hours. Epo? Sure. Anabolics? You bet. But hgh? No way. You’re just using buzz words now.
