If Laros hadn't left it so late, he would have destroyed everyone. If he had been in Paris last week he would have ran 3:26.
Very well said. All that stupid pre race hype about goose and Hocker now just seems like PED coping. They just felt guilty that they couldn’t do their PEDs enough justice if they don’t come away with 3:42. PEDers tend to be trap on a loop of emotional guilt and suffer a lot of moral entrapment issues.
Let this be final neither Hocker nor the goose will ever taste the 3:42 barrier outdoors PED or no PED. They put on a an ugly display for the discerning eye like ours.
Laros is for real. He is 20, he doesn’t need to try he will be the future WR holder because youth is on his side. Jakob at 20 didn’t have a 3:45:94 mile PB. The goose is 26 and so is Hocker, both pass their used by dates.
The field got stuck behind Kipsang who noticeably slowed immediately after the 400 and ended up coming in near last. Hocker should have went past him right there. the field was 1:26 through 600 and 2:26 through 1,000. sad considering they were all there to run fast.
I said at the beginning of the year that the Big US 3 of Hocker, Nuguse and Kessler wouldn't all make the team. Strand has a great shot to knock off Kessler, no?
And I said on the SC podcast this week, we need a way to get Strand into the Bowemran mile. I was like who needs to come out - Hoare was near the top of my mental list and he Hoare finishes DFL.
But if I was coaching Strand, I think I'd be happy he wasn't in Bowerman mile. His confidence is sky high now (unless you thought he could run like 3:45 with rabbits and win it).
Yeah I think Strand has a 3:45 in him (he wouldn’t have won though due to the pacing, it would have to be even). Kessler won’t make the team, between Hocker and Strand for first.
Kessler can’t even outkick a 31 year old Jake Wightman in training how is he 1) clean 2) a real talent? Kessler has been giving mix signals to us in terms of whether he has what it takes to be Jakob type talent. Laros has shown to be just that but not Kessler. Boohoo

Wanyonyi or a Kerr would have easily won such slow races. Kerr kicked the last 600 last year and we didn’t see him gritting his teeth and showing facial distress so why can’t the goose do the same and just win?
He just gave up in the last 10 meters. Such bad attitudes are normally reserved for the Ramzis and co. Dopers I mean. Dathan needs to be sacked and a new coach is in order.

He's for real, but so is everyone else in that race. If jakob comes back, and neils beats him, jakob will say he's just "the next guy". Anyone could win the world championship 1500. I dont see neils breaking world records because he's up and down with injuries. Could he win an olympic gold? absolutely. But so could a dozen other guys at that level.
Props to Nuguse for going for El G's world record. He looked like he was on pace until around 1400m, when the green lights disappeared and the white lights (set to 3:45.14) caught up. Nuguse's stride really collapsed in the final 200m. He definitely had a 3:44 in him today with more even pacing and a less aggressive first half. In that case, Laros wouldn't have beaten him.
Just shows that 3:43.13 is one hell of a world record and that it will take a Herculean performance on the perfect day to finally break it. Especially since the mile is so rarely run.
Although 3:26.00 is the superior record, I expect that to be broken first since the 1500m is run more often.
Even see with Faith's WRs. 3:49.11, then 3:49.04, then 3:48.68 - whereas she only set one official mile world record (4:07.64) since Breaking4 doesn't count.
I beg your pardon but you do sound as stupid as the goose. That 1500m record will never be broken. It’s July 2025? If it hasn’t been broken by now it never will and today is proof that.
Real talents win races and that’s what Laros is, Kerr is, Jakob is. The goose looses races more than he wins in his speciality event, that’s an embarrassment to real talent. And the goose also has a tendency to break down in form and run ‘sleazy’. We also know dopers are associated with such sleaze.

Laros, Myers, Koech these are for real with top quality because they have the age to back them up. Hocker and goose doesn’t have any age to back them up. They are 26 for Christ’s sake. How do you become a WR holder at 26 for the mile?

These downvotes won’t age well. Hocker’s in better shape than he was at this time last year. Nuguse around the same. Strand has a monstrous kick and a good enough mile time to stick with any pace (bad tactics though). Kessler has been running worse this year.

People develop and improve at different stages, and ages. Often the later, the better. Younger athletes can overtrain, get injured, and be out of the sport in their early-mid 20s. Im not convinced any of the 3 you mentioned will still be in the sport,at 26. Theyre more likely to be burned out, injured, and gone. Yes,theyre young, talented and the real deal, but so are their competitors.
the deal is that the top guys rotate the podium positions, depending on their game A or game B.
kessler B game can convert to A with a couple weeks sharp training.
Jacob with his 343 mile and front run, that Jacob kills that field, but goose and laros would have ebough juice to draft nearly all the way.
Laros training appears to be peaked for late July onward.
so A game Jacob will have to contend with that.
that said the group is still behind Jacob A but not Jacob B
Jakob is down and out. That injury will always haunt him. He will also never be the mile record holder. His tendons and ligaments are too vulnerable to wear and tear. He races way too often and thinks he has great recovery powers which is just stupid. Jakob is talented but his stupidity without his Dad by his side will haunt him.
Who races a 1500m in Bruxelles and 2 days later runs a HM and sleeps in a toxic pressurized plane cabin in between? Only a stupid idiot does that. El G wouldn’t do such things and that’s why he is unbeatable. Todays studs are way too inane.

We are in agreement for some part though. We agree no 26 year old and above shall hold the mile or 1500m world record. Thanks for your interest in me and my posts, I took pleasure.
