No, he didn’t. At Riverbank, German is the guy in school history to break 4:30 and 9:30.

I think it is me. I mean, my predecessor ran the program into the ground, making nobody want to run at this school, but I took them to a consistent contender in our part of the State. Boys and girls teams were always a serious threat, unlike before.

For now it’s hard to say about Jesuit LA but they have a really good underclassman group coming. We’ll have to see if they make NXN at some point (something they’ve never done), and how they end up doing there

Actually, it was a prep school in New England in the 90's. the XC program was a "club" when the coach arrived. since he was also a new teacher, and the kids saw him running everyday, training for the Boston Marathon, he gave inspiration. He convinced 8 boys to come out. He convinced the AD to make the XC program a "sport", and be part of the local conference. He built this program in 4 years to a team of over 15 boys and over 10 girls. None were good enough to run in college. But parents noticed a big difference in their children that were on the team. They studied more. The ran in bad weather. They looked forward to practice. They recruited classmates to come out. No super talented runners. But a program that grew into a formidable program, that was only a few years ago, a doormat.

The Herriman boys team won NXN before.

But the girls team has yet to make NXN. They just haven’t had the numbers to do it.
