I mean, isn’t it her indoor 3k? As someone who set NCAA records in the mile/3k/5k, it’s probably her sweet spot, plus she was absolutely on fire having won the NCAA 5k and XC dominantly, and iirc the 3k was in a super fast race where I think monson set the 3k AR. So all of that, plus being indoors gives it an extra boost for WA points. It’s worth around a 14:4x 5k, and I think she showed tonight she’s at least in 14:5x shape 6 weeks from USAs.
The women’s 5k is pretty strong right now, especially since Andrews just ran like 14:25. I don’t think Tuohy will be able to make the team this year, but if she stays healthy for the next year, I think she’s 1000% talented enough to make a team. I know we all have Valbymania (and for good reason), but before Valby had the greatest season ever, Tuohy won 4 titles in 9 months and set 3 NCAA records. Talent doesn’t go away.
Not that much of an outlier. It was a third place in a Cat A event (so 110 place points). Still much better than forst place in a Cat C event (60 place points).

How is the women's 5,000 strong right now? Who are the elite American 5,000 runners?

No one cares about the 5K. The 1500 is the star of the meet. If you aren’t fast enough in that event you’re forced to move up to an event no one watches

Are there any American women who could come close to winning a Diamond League race like Nico?
Honest assessment: she looked good, smoked a B-level field of US women, some who’ve run under 15 by a good bit. Led probably the last 2K if not more. Shes in good form and if altitude goes well she might get to 144x shape.
I don’t think her close was that strong.
If she is to ever compete for a spot on the team, she will need to be able to close in a 62. Given that the first 3000m for this field was quite slow, would’ve liked to see her last lap closer to that.
It was good to see her back in action. I did not notice she looked pretty gassed that final lap in 68 seconds. She was grimacing, but held her composure and closed strong.

Linden Hall just won a DL race and there are Americans on a similar level
Alicia Monson is the only American we've had for awhile who was genuinely world class over 5000. Seems like she's gotten the OAC injury bug though. Hoping at least one of Valby, Tuohy, or Hedengren can make the jump in the next 3-4 years though. I really like this performance from Tuohy because she genuinely crushed the field and looked to have 20+ seconds in the tank - if she's on the uphill part of her improvement curve for a year or two she could definitely get down to 14:30 or faster. She's had a strong kick in her arsenal for awhile so I would feel a lot better about a 14:30 Tuohy's chances on the global stage than a 14:20 Monson.

That is feasible.
Tuohy, Elly Henes, and Hartman are training together in Park City this summer so we’ll see.
