You know how many times Americans have said they are in such-and-such shape and have failed to run the time that they are supposedly in shape for? Run the time and then we can discuss.
He did. On a tougher course too.
He ran on an aided course. Let him run it on an un-aided course and then we can celebrate him. Not until then.
Super shoes improve marathon times by 2 minutes, so he’ll need to break Khannouchi’s record by more than 2 minutes for it to be considered a better performance.
Why are so many people voting this down? Does anyone think super shoes don’t improve times by 2 minutes over regular shoes?

I don’t disagree on the shoes (though I think it’s closer to 1:45), but where you might be wrong is “better performance.” You are assuming that all the 2:05s and 2:06s run by Americans were not “enhanced” performances themselves. Personally, and this is just my opinion, but the shoes level that playing field. I doubt Mantz is doing microdosing or blood doping, let alone gray zone sh!t like thyroid medication, testosterone cream, oxytocin, and/or L carnitine drips or injections.

Why would you assume Khannouchi’s performance was enhanced? Because he’s not white? Because he’s an immigrant?
Do you think the Kenyans that Mantz is able to keep up with are all clean? If not, then how do you suppose he’s able to keep up with them? The power of prayer?
Is he gonna wear bouncy shoes? Or gonna go with the shoes Khannouchi wore back in 2002? Hope he goes with the bouncy shoes. Give him a good 4 min head start.

Why do you young liberals always feel the need to make it about race or “immigration status?” Conservatives don’t do this. Notice how I said 2:06s and thyroid medication and testosterone cream and L carnitine drips, which might just implicate a few “white bread” Americans??? I find all of the performances suspect, and EPO was a prime candidate back in the 1990s, along with assorted other PEDs. Just ask white boy Lance Armstrong.
Also, have you noticed that Mantz hasn’t been able to keep up with many of the Kenyans and other East Africans? He’s running 2:05 when they are all running 2:02 or faster. C’mon dude. Logic 101.
He essentially ran it at Boston as there was no tailwind that day and even a little headwind toward the end. However the weather was great. Mantz is capable of sub-2:05. I just wish he was attempting it at Berlin or Valencia where it’s almost guaranteed. Instead, Chicago probably offered him a ton of money. You can’t really blame him, but let’s hope it’s not a 75+ degree day, which it could be.
What the heck does "essentially ran it" even mean? He ran it or he didn't run it. Get this "essentially" out of her. Bill Parcells once said you are what your record says. Come on dude. He ran it or he didn't run it.

Which white bread Americans are you implicating besides the one coached by an immigrant?
Khannouchi’s record is from the 2000’s not the 1990’s.
Be honest. If Khannouchi’s first name was Kyle instead of Khalid, would you think differently about him?

Sir Mr Connor is an American athlete and an American marathon will definitely favor their own athletes. If he went to Berlin and Valencia, both Mark Milde and Marc Roig respectively gonna give him the brusque treatment you feelin me sir?????????
I was a fan of Mantz until he was the beneficiary of the most blatant race fixing I’ve ever seen in distance running.
Doesn't surprise me sir, I wouldn't jump out of my seat at such a revelation!!!!!!!!! For me, everything about Mantz is mehhhhhhhhhh, and everything about my boy Josh Kerr is like GOLDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!
Super shoes improve marathon times by 2 minutes, so he’ll need to break Khannouchi’s record by more than 2 minutes for it to be considered a better performance.
True that sir!!!!! Excellent reminder for all Connor fanboys!!!!!!!!! If Connor fails to run 2:03:38 come what may drugs, wind, sand-storm or hail-storm, I really don't know why anyone of you fools are going to see any value in this super untalented and highly enhanced athlete????????
If he ran 2:03:38 I would be so embarrassed at my 2 eyes because there would be no 2:03:38 athlete who moves their arms and legs the way Connor moves his. What's up with all the American athletes having quirky idiosyncratic motion huh????? From Nuguse to Hocker to Fisher to Mantz to Young why are all these supposedly top pro guys moving so asymmetrically and unsightly????????????
Even Kenyans like Reynolds Cheruiyot beginning to move like the Americans as he sprinted like a wading duck down the home straight of the DOHA 5000m diamond league, that's just so embarrassing for the sport!!!!!!!!! What if Hicham El Kingdom Triple Love Guerrouj were watching in the stands or on TV and saw Reynolds running like a duckling down the home straight??????? His eyes would be squinting wouldn't it folks???????
Our sport needs to preserve the beauty of the elite pro biomechanics and weed out Josh Hoey, Grant Fisher, Yared Nuguse, Connor Mantz and welcome in instead Josh Kerr, Jakob Ingebrigsten (who does have beautiful technique though not as beautiful as Josh Kerr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), Kejelcha, Aregawi, Barega, Kiplimo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is mostly the American athletes who are guilty of terrible physics (motion)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm at a lost to explain why really!!!!!!!!! Moreover, it's always the Americans who display in bulk the most suspicious space-time particulars of behavior and speech with regards to doping.........
I'm scratching my head really.......somebody please.............

Chill out with the insults and the politics homie. I ain’t political.
Are you talking about Ryan Hall? Didn’t he retire because he refused to take testosterone even when he had a deficit?
You implied that I’m some sort of “racist” and then try to backpedal with “I don’t have a political bone in my body” and “chill out?” Give me a break dude. You doubled down on “Kyle.”
I’m not going to do your homework for you. You can do your own due diligence on who might’ve had Tue’s for gray zone chemicals and vitamins. There are only a handful of American 2:06s and 2:07s prior to Mantz/Young. Thyroid supplementation was common.
You know who else was breaking all kinds of records from 1999 through the early 2000s? A very white Texan by the name of Armstrong, along with other white names like Tyler Hamilton and Floyd Landis.
But, continue on about race since you think you are “evolved.”
