lol, so the track isn’t even 400m? wtf, why? how long is it?

Why is GST incapable of using normal/watchable camera angles?
It’s either super zoomed-in (which prevents you from seeing where the racers are relative to the finish line) or overhead (which makes you dizzy).

Good turnout, the lines were long to get in.
Anson Henry back again with his irritating remarks ..... I wonder what Cram thinks of him.

It's hard to find online, but someone said they measured it as 379.92m.

I'm always curious as to why GST didn't hire Ato Boldon? He's not interested?
M 800 - Arop for the win
Here we go
In 1951, the University decided to expand/widen the track from six to nine lanes — one more lane than a standard track. The idea was spearheaded by John Kenneth Doherty, the director of Penn Relays at the time. His motive behind widening the track was to increase the number of participants in the Penn Relays in the hopes that this increase would also bring more attention to the event.
Typically, lanes are added around the outside of a track. However, the Penn Relays track couldn’t expand outwards because it was adjacent to a brick wall, forcing the University to build new lanes on the inside of the track. This inward expansion caused the inner four lanes to be less than 400 meters, the fifth lane to be exactly 400 meters, and the outer four lanes to be more than 400 meters. A metal rail was installed between lanes four and five to mark where a “standard track” would begin.
In the summer of 2015, Penn decided to reconstruct the track, tearing it down from the ground up. While rebuilding, it was determined that another lane could be added within the “standard track,” which consisted of the lanes that were separated from the first four lanes by a metal rail. Because of the addition of a new lane, the metal rail was repositioned between lanes three and four.

So much for Hoey being able to run 1:41 right now lol
Just negative split 1:43. Crazy strength. He'll do some crazy things later this summer

So lanes 1-3 have to cut OUT???? Hahaha this is so amateur and dangerous. Can’t believe Giles didn’t flatten someone cutting out.
The overall production of GST still feels bush league. The camera angles continue to offer weird shots of the races that also obscure how the race is actually unfolding (what is with the overhead shot of the finish?). Additionally, the times go up for like .5 seconds at the end of the race and then they pull it from the screen to put up a giant "RACE WINNER" caption -- like, yeah, we can see that?
Idk, I feel like some of this stuff is pretty basic. I get the idea to try out a new format but we don't need to do it with literally every aspect of the event. Give us a grand-stand panorama of the finish and leave put the times up as they finish (and leave them there). God knows the website isn't gonna give us this information...
Is there a deliberate lag for the stream, the live results page showed the results of the M8 several minutes before anyone here mentioned it.
Feels like Hocker hasn’t really made much progress but I guess he is training for the 5k so maybe has to sacrifice some speed since his focus is 1500/5k at USA’s.
Arop great, Goose good
I’m spending more time looking at the families on the benches than runners running.
Half of the coverage has been a random shot of the crowd with and without sound for long periods of time. WTF is this crap? This TV coverage is bush league.
