ESPN has him listed as a RB. He’s also a bit tall and underweight for that position (6’1 185 lbs). I wonder how he sees his athletic future considering he had 2 carries last season. It seems like most football/track guys tend to prefer the gridiron regardless of the discrepancy between football production and track results. Just look at Devon Allen.
They're moving him to WR. He's a 4-star recruit (also recruited by LSU, Georgia & Miami), so he should have been starting his freshman year or at the very least in the rotation.
The 400m and football seem to contradict each other in my opinion. Very often do you see good 100/200 football players, but the higher you go up in the distance, the more weight tends to matter. Also, football favors high top end speed for very short periods of time (generally significantly less than 100m), so it's interesting to see a football players in a speed endurance event. Makes me think he should hang up the cleats and focus on the oval.
My HS had a solid 4x4. I think they ran 4:17 or 4:16, well over a decade ago. All four of them were football players, all of them were receivers. One of them also ran the 800 in 1:58. The football program was pretty serious, they often trained twice a day and most of those guys were crazy fit.
Our 4x100 was almost all football players as well, a mix of receivers and RBs.
NWLa once won the NCAA 4x1 running soon to be NFLers.....Joe Delaney, Victor Otis and Mark Duper (Mario Johnson)
Oregon ran a World Record 4x1 running soon to be pro footballers.....Jerry Tarr***, Mike Gaechter and Mel Renfro (Harry Jerome)
As we know the NFL has had TONS of world class 100/200/hurdlers/long jumpers but really not all that at 400m. Would like to see this guy make it to that level, becoming the fastest NFL 400m cat.
Listening to the tv football guys trying to talk track is always a trip.

Nolan Neil Cromwell (born January 30, 1955) is an American former professional football player who was a safety for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Kansas Jayhawk...
Danzy was recruited as an "Athlete". He doesn't really have a position and the FSU offense was a mess and will probably continue to be a dumpster fire with Castellanos at QB. He will stay with football based on NIL but clearly there is talent for track. His dad was a talented runner. Hopefully football lets him continue to do track and not force him to change his body much. As for the Olympics, a little too early for that kind of hype. Jalen Ramsey did it for a few years and Jimbo certainly didn't like it.

Well, he's a recruiting bust then. As a 4-star, he should have been starting or like I said at the very least in the rotation (doesn't matter if a player recruited as an athlete, RB, WR? etc). There are 4-star QBs starting in their FR year. But considering it's Florida St, I can see them screwing this up. Lol
