Seems highly unlikely. The field is good but not great and it’s going to be 88F at race time. Shanghai two weeks ago had 3 at 12:50/12:51 but only 4 sub-13. I expect a slower winning time in Doha.

Made no sense for him to do it honestly. Ethiopian selection is on time basis and it seems like something fast is unlikely. The 12:50 probably has earned him in the real spots to run fast.

This is a snoozefest without Arop and Wanyonyi. Who cares if Hoppel wins in a weak field.

Seems like it is windy/hot. Eid Naser barely under 50s. I think Tebogo/Shelly-Ann could go quick but expecting slower times across the board.

Good run for Hoppel, Masalela is in better shape but quick time and beat Kinyamal

Masalela backed off at the end and was 0.11 short of a MR that would have earned him a 5k bonus.

Other notes from the race:

-Moula looks back. The 800 has taken a step forward but he is a strong finisher who can be in the mix in the third tier (Pattison et al.)

-Kemei Cheminingwa disappointing result but he ran the whole race in lane 2, think he may be a factor later in the year

Well I have to say, I don't know how exactly they have done it, but the stadium (and a perfect sized one for this type of meet) looking 95% full does wonders for the presentation and my general interest in this. Field events - also not a bad thing.

I'm on the results website and I'm not seeing results for any of the DL races. No W400, no M800 even though these races have supposedly been over for 25-35 min. WTF?
