He'd have better luck financially if sponsoring him didn't come with all the added baggage of whatever the guy was up to in Portland. No one said he was bad at running though. Just that he's done some pretty shady stuff and isn't good enough to contend at the highest level. He's in his late 20s so this is his peak on the track too most likely.

To put into perspective how old Evert is, the dude started college 8 months into the first Trump administration... It has been almost 3000 days since this guy left high school and he's still running in college. Unlike a Mormon mission however he spent 2 years in timeout because he couldn't keep his hands to himself.
It is time for everyone to adjust their race time expectations. Shoes, tracks, coaching have shifted the meaning. 5+ years ago 13:27 was a solid D1 time, maybe All American. Now it is a good NAIA/D3 time. It won't win a D1 conference meet anymore.

The vast majority of Title IX cases never see a court room, unfortunately. Most victims don't want to spend months or years re-living their trauma just for a slim chance of an actual conviction, and colleges have zero incentive to publicly claim "Hey y'all, this guy we gave money to and promoted was actually a rapist! Oops!" So concrete evidence, even when it exists, is 99% of the time not going to be public information.
That said, Evert was dropped by the Portland team and his entire friend group, including frat-lite New Gen, in the span of a few weeks. I may be biased because in every interaction I ever had with the guy, he rubbed me the wrong way, but I literally don't know a single person who knows him IRL who thinks he's innocent. He continues to show his lack of spine by clinging onto college running at the ripe age of 27 years old, at the only level that will still let him be around 18-year-olds.

And there are plenty of colleges that have publicly disavowed controversial student-athletes that they previously sponsored (Eg. Stanford v Brock Turner).

The telling part is how he couldn’t get on another D1 team and had to go NAIA. Objectively he’s an outside shot to score at D1 nationals track now and contribute somewhat in 3 seasons, most schools would take a chance on a guy like that. Since he claims he’s so great, why didn’t you join another D1 team, Evert? Did you actually grape a girl who was drugged up and passed out at party? Even if you run 12:27 for a 5k, nobody will let that level of offense go until it’s addressed and you show some remorse.

Based on that, his crime was supplying alcohol to a minor which usually is 1 year in either a county jail or state prison. Regarding the sex part, the legal age of consent in the US is 18 years old.

this was all pretty public knowledge. now it's just less known because it probably happened like 3 or 4 years ago.
the story was that he was at some portland party and a teammate (i think) was clearly too drunk to consent and he made sure to leave with her from the party. people told him not too and he yelled back something bad like "i'm taking her home no matter what" or "i don't care how drunk she is"... i don't remember exactly but it was something like that. what happened after, i am not sure.
following his removal from portland he literally posted the letter kicking him out of school on instagram (it's since been deleted). this isn't hearsay
