Amazon Prime has me thinking how MrBeast always has the pile of cash. Even if its fake cash to have out or presented in a case might interest the average fan these days.
Going to have to agree with this. No Lyles or Tebogo so the 100/200m aren’t compelling. Sydney is against the wrong runners so that isn’t compelling either. No Warholm or Rai in hurdles. Womens 5000m has B list runners. I think the womens 100m is compelling with the best 110 hurdlers even though it is no different than a diamond league. Overall, the spirit of this League is failing
I'm laughing at any downvotes to my original post because those people are kidding themselves. I mean look at this thread already - all the engagement is on what Wanyoni might do in the 800!
It's exactly what you said here - other than the excellent 800m and the solid 3000m, what really is going on? Sydney is going to come out, look miserable and win an easy 100k - the format is already exposed because how cool would it have been to see her vs Thomas, Paulino and Naser fighting for the money - this actually would have been really interesting but we don't get it. Seriously someone tell me what other event today is good and why? I'll definitely be tuning in for those 20min of the 8/3000 but that's it.
I think it depends on how much of a track fan someone is. I understand many people here are mostly distance running fans rather than fans of the entire sport. As someone who is a fan of the entire sport, I don’t need all the top stars to be present to be interested in a race. There is more than enough star power for me in GST to hold my interest.
So far, the athletes are bringing it, but the production team is not. That’s the story of the Kingston Slam. Hopefully it’s easy enough to fix production issues over time.

The ratings for how many people actually sat through this whole thing will be interesting
I feel like none of the hurdle girls even tried that hard in the 100M. That was painfully slow. Winning time should have been at least 11 flat
Do you understand why they ended up in hurdles in the first place? Obviously these aren't 10.8 women.
I enjoyed the 100. It's interesting to see how the hurdlers handle adjusting their start and race progressions with no hurdles. I think some struggles with that.
Anyone seen any wind readings? Looks rough out there, just based on people's hair blowing around.
I know it's supposedly not about times, but the tough conditions detract from the whole concept. It makes it look small-time to see these people running mediocre times in their off-events -- and the wind is a significant part of that. The distance races are going to be rough.

True, perhaps I shouldn't judge too harshly, I just expected a little bit faster as all. Nevertheless, I'm a fan of seeing athletes double in events they don't normally do, so I'm sure with time they will adjust accordingly

They're posted on the website results, but still kind of annoying they don't show it as soon as the race finishes, a little unusual on that end
