Arcadia? You have to compete in your school uniform and it’s early enough that only the TX state meet process (perhaps a few others) has gotten started.
And states like Minnesota don't allow kids to compete that far out of state. So they cant compete for their team and Arcadia says they have to compete for their team. So we didn't see Breker run it before and we wont see Mechura compete in it now.
Kenan Dagge just ran 14:27 last weekend to set the NV state 5000m record, winning by 31 seconds here in Vegas. Looking forward to seeing him improve on his 8:54.
Arcadia is the premier meet IMO because of timing. These post seasons meets are sponsored by Nike and NB and Brooks (and Adidas)—talent gets split up depending on Boston v NYC or Philly v Oregon.

It's tragic how early the TX state meet is. They miss Penn relays and Arcadia because of it. I wish it was changed at some point.
In the early 1970s you could not have had a college and/or pro list as good as your high school list! But please remember that they did not face what Paavo Nurmi, Glenn Cunningham, Peter Snell, or even the more recent runners like James Ronald Ryun, Steve Prefontaine, or Craig Virgin. Respect the pioneers. Would we even have "Peanut Butter" without men who invented and perfected it. Maybe, but it would have taken a lot longer to develop that product like every other thing on the planet.
I know Ryun and Pre, but who in the heck is Virgin? Is it a nickname?
Any information on the girls two mile and mile fields? Similarly loaded with talent?
I don't see why the girls 3200 race can't become sub 10 fest (as we saw in 2023) but the talent just isn't there when in comparison to the boys race have been for the past 4 years. I think hendegren will be in it so that's huge this year

Sub 10 for girls is a better mark than sub 9 for boys. And the talent pool is not as deep.
Looked it up. Lots of girls talent it appears. In addition to Jane Hedengren there is Huyler, Rodriguez, Edwards, Thomsen, Stegall. Seems like a very deep field in the 2 mile. As deep as any year.
