Multiple guys took runs at him, it was great. I kinda wish it wasn’t Pallitsch doing the most aggressive late attempt as maybe someone of a higher caliber doesn’t get shoved and instead gets by. Great job by Houser, and smart if cautious approach by Gourley earns him another silver behind Jakob.

Not great commentary, IMO--I understand Jakob has been kicked down, but they kept worrying about Houser's chances to run him down on the homestraight when Jakob closed nearly a full second faster over the last 200 in the prelims. Jakob does have a turn of speed

I know this upsets people, you can't handle a comment that doesn't deify Jakob. He's not going to run a 3k against Aregawi the day before racing Hocker, Kerr, and Nuguse. if the 3000 is on the final day, good chance he goes for it.

And Gourley seemed to be moving well and coming from less far back. They weren’t focusing enough on the multiple runners trying to block Jakobs path to the front and overtake him once he was there.
