I am said coach- over at Timpview in Utah and I am an avid let’s run reader - but basically never post.
this time though - Jane is one of the hardest working, most humble kids you have ever met. She works her tail off and does all the small things. Her mentality is unreal- she is an elite level athlete in every sense of the word, as well as an elite level human being. She is NOT doping or doing anything other than putting in the work on top of an incredible genetic makeup and tough as nails mindset.
this site and the people on here willing to disparage and accuse high school kids ( girls especially making an assumption a lot of posters are men ) is really not appropriate. Not just Jane but so many people speculating about other runners through the years about eating disorders , doping and personal drama, posting as other Hs girls trying to create contention and drama where there is none. This strange fixation on athletes who are not even adults really should stop. It’s not helping the sport- it’s not helping anyone.
the only thing that should be said about the race today is hats off to both Jane and Rylee who ran incredibly well, who are obviously working hard and executed extremely well. They deserve credit and congrats . Thanks to those who came before and continue to push the boundaries at every level. Good things coming for the NCAA and American professional running.
