I realize I have zero cachet as a complete unknown, but you lack the foresight of OP, who’s been to Pike. As the recent Starbucks decision indicates: the times, they are a changin’.

I think the idea could work if you're selling the idea of a "premium" bathroom that only paying members have access to. I could see this being popular in urban areas where cleanliness may not be up to par or long wait times are standard.

I'm not giving up on the idea yet.

What kind of urinals can a member expect to find in business that take BathPass?

In the country I'm currently living there is often just a guy sitting outside the bathroom taking "donations" from everyone who wants to use the facility.

How much do you pay me to be on your app? I don’t want hobos and running clubs fouling my bathrooms unless I get paid enough to cover any extra costs for cleaning, staffing, security, supplies, and liability coverage.

Lots of homeless have cell phones. Some don’t, but I’d say most do. In the US libraries, shelters and job centers are pretty common charging spots and ‘charging banks’ are actually super common so they can recharge a few times before needing power. Also, long battery life is valued so very few iPhones when I worked with homeless, and I’ve seen a few with solar charging panels. Plus a lot of homeless have cars and jobs. Reality is homeless need phones to access even some basic services so aside from a few super crazies most have them.

And to Rojo’s point, almost zero homeless would sign up. No homeless person would waste money on that garbage. They mostly keep to their neighborhoods and are very aware of available porta potty/bathrooms. Friendly businesses, libraries, parks are first choices, otherwise pissing in the street is better than paying.

As a graduate of both the Johnson and Cox business schools, I suggest that you go with a kind of boutique or tiered pricing — let’s call it the Marie Antoinette membership, which allows one to have their urinal cake, should they so desire.

You need a loyalty program. Like every 500 p!sses, you can p!ss free for a week in participating bathrooms. Call them "Golden Stream Members."

How would that work?

It would require that each business have someone available to check the customer's Bathroom Pass credentials. In reality, that is a tremendous potential for employees trying to do other things already, and may be more complicated than it seems to verify if the pass is valid and up to date, etc.

English speaking people will think it's for an actual 'bath'room

Some, I dare say, my dear chap — or shall I call you “bruv”? — might look for a dub that you see, as well as a baffroom if they make their way across the Atlantic, or as you call it, “the Pond.”

That which we call a loo by any other name would — okay, we don’t need to get into what it smells like, but it’s all good if you can make water in it.

Can’t we just give the homeless all the fentanyl they want and ban Narcan?

Check my IP and you’ll see what I mean - was screamed at by a mentally ill, potentially violent, homeless today on my run - in a “safe” part of my crime infested city.

How about a bathroom pass and a sticker on buildings whose sides you can pi$$ on?

I remember having to pay to use a bathroom. I think it was a dime back in the 80's. I don't remember why they got rid of them.
