He also probably is deluding himself in the idea that he’d have won if Tim hadn’t gone with his surge at 700 to go. In reality, yes it helped Kerr (probably the most) but I find it hard to believe he wouldn’t have gone with the move. Maybe he doesn’t beat Jakob after having to bridge the gap, but it wouldn’t affect Cole or Yared and actually given them less traffic to negotiate. Both guys had to get around Tim.
Jakob seems to harp on Tim “ruining his race” but the truth is Tim runs for first in every race, just like Jakob. There is no patience and hoping to Nordas/Willis your way into a bronze. As soon as Jakob decided to usurp Tim’s role as frontrunner, Tim was always gonna be the guy making his life hardest and bringing the field to him.
