I know 2 people (one a runner, the other not) who have had meniscus tears and we're talking well over a year for both. As someone else pointed out, OP is talking as if they've never had to deal with a major injury before. Must be nice.
That depends though. If you get a tear where there isn’t much blood flow and they opt to repair it, it’s a super long recovery as you said. But if they opt to resect the torn portion because they don’t think a repair will be successful, you’ll be back running within a 2-3 weeks (albeit with less of a good long term outcome for your knee). Do we know then if she had a repair?
