Yeah, there are a lot of excuses for why Asians out perform blacks so dramatically. The low income one is bullsh!t too. Most Asians in these schools don’t come from privilege backgrounds.
Many also have the disadvantage not having English as the language spoken at home, but for some reason you never hear this brought up.
Asians have the most wealth and highest income on average of any race in the US so their children are very likely to have a more privileged upbringing than average.

The reason I asked is because I'm familiar with Stuys track program and those of the specialized high schools. I also know that Nigerians have been very successful in PSAL track and field with many getting D1 scholarships to our most selective universities. A few of our best NCAA throwers have been PSAL athletes of Nigerian descent.
I'm also aware that Stuy is the least diverse of the specialized schools.
