It depends why you're overthinking. Are you worried about looking dumb in front of the crowd? Underachieving?
I was nervous in track but I also wasn't that good.
In basketball I was very good and was never nervous. I was excited to show what I could do. The more people the better. I knew what I was capable of because I did these things many times in practice. There was no reason to overthink, only be prepared.
If you're elite, you know what times you're capable of. There should be no doubt. Make a race day plan that you always stick to in order to get ready for your race. Be prepared ahead of time so you're confident that you're ready. There's no reason to overthink something you've planned and put a lot of thought into. Then you just go through the motions without any needed contemplation. Your body is ready, your mind is ready, you then just need to execute. This hopefully turns worry into excitement
