Interestingly, cranny is racing the mile at BU on friday, then racing the 3k at new balance on Sunday, then the mile at millrose 6 days later. I guess practicing for rounds but would sort of rather see her take a crack at hull in the 3k fresh on sunday

Having a full day rest after a mile rust-buster may be her best prep for a 3k against Hull.
Thanks for the heads up. Valby is probably looking forward to taking another crack at Cranny.

Really fast out of the gate for her. She ran 1 indoor race in 2019, 0 in 2020, 0 in 2021, 1 in 2022, 1 in 2023, and 1 in 2024.
At this time last year, Elise was still with Team Boss while beginning to realize even being back home in Boulder had not solved all her burnout issues.
Only in mid-March did she begin working with Jared Cornfield/NAU coach -- then suffered a brief injury about a month later. The ship righted in time for the Oly Trials but took on a bit of water in Paris.
Fortunately, Elise found her groove after returning for fall training; all systems have been Go since. Thus, the enthusiasm for charging out of the gate with multiple races.
And, as noted above, Friday's mile will not slow her down for Sunday's 3k. If anything, Cranny presumably will have an advantage over most of Sunday's field who are racing for the first time since last summer.
5000m: Lexy H-L, Bailey Hertenstein, Jenna Hutchins, Whittni Morgan, Jess McClain, Abby Nichols, Amaris Tyynismaa (since when was she signed to Under Armor?), Elise Sterns, Courtney Wayment, Annie Rodenfels
Pamela Kosegei is notably absent
Taylor Roe is notably absent as well. Like Roe, Lauren Ryan also finished top 10 at the 2025 Houston Half. The Australian 10000m NR holder (30:35) could challenge Hertenstein and the Coach Taylor contingent ftw if recovered well.
Unfortunately, 19 yr old UNM frosh Marion Jepngetich (15:04 road 5k in Nov 2024; Peru World U20 Champs 3000m silver medalist [8:52]) will not make her NCAA debut this wkend--scratched, according to Flotrack.

In addition to Wayment and Morgan and the BYU contingent, Diljeet also has Ella Donaghu (14:58) and Simone Plourde(15:13) in the 5000. In all, she has 18 collegians and 6 pros in the meet. That is a whole lot of yelling for her to do.
