WRONG! It’s not disgusting to say Young is homosexual. That’s what he is. People are either heterosexual, homosexual or bisexual. It’s not disgusting to be any one of those sexualities because people are what God made them. Young’s homosexuality is only disgusting if you’re disgusted by it. Don’t be like that. Be like Mike Smith and welcome everyone.
But to say that is a reason not to accept someone. To say that being Homosexual would make a coach reluctant the same way a convicted doper who tampered with the process is pretty disgusting.
Huh? Do we live in a society where homosexuality is universally accepted? Would Nico have been supported if he came out at BYU? I praised Smith because he ACCEPTED Young in a society where not every coach would. And that makes me the bad guy??? 🤔
setting aside the bigotry.... it appears from social media that Shelby is fully back in the fold with BTC, seen training with Christina Aragon, and always hanging with Karissa.. I think there was a reference in one IG story to Shelby (and Christina?) racing in 16 days. This was a few days ago, so maybe something around Jan. 15-17.
Look at the comments on Strava from her long run on Dec 29. Someone asked her if she’s joining a team and three days ago she said…
Would love to join a team but still looking for a sponsor! Planning on racing unattached/unsponsored for my first races back and hoping that things fall into place at some point and I can join a team! Appreciate your excitement and support though☺️
For a few months after Young came out of the closet with his sexuality, in every thread about him, it would be brought up but it stopped, which is great, but here you are with concerns about coaching “homosexuals”.
Of course, Smith or any other coach, wouldn’t have a problem with Nico, and if one did, and was blatant about it, he would lose his job. You’re complementing someone for not doing something that is completely unacceptable.

In the figment of your imagination, what concerns did I express about Smith coaching Young?
No coach who valued his reputation would take Houlihan on. It's not just up to the coach, too. The teams sponsor, if they have one, might object. Athletes already on the team might object. Not a whole lot to gain by having a convicted doper on the team and a lot to lose.
Are the guy who thought Valby was a risky signing? Shelby is a sure thing. Every coach should want to show forgiveness. America roots for real criminals. They will root for an innocent young woman on the comeback.

Why did you even bring it up? If someone asked Smith if he would be willing to coach Houlihan, would he answer with, “Why wouldn’t I, I coach a homosexual, don’t I?
Houlihan has an endorsement from Hiltz. It was in the Runners World story on how people will treat Houlihan when she returns to racing. Hiltz said, “I hope she’s treated with love and respect.”
Training partners in the making.
That's taken completely out of context you know it.
What they actually said is this in context: “I don’t want her to be booed on the start line, it makes me feel sad and uncomfortable, but at the same time, there probably will be some controversy with her coming back in the sport. She might get booed, or she might get harassed online, or whatever it is. As someone who has dealt with that to my own extent, I’m never wishing that upon anyone, and I hope she’s treated with love and respect.”
They also said this, and this is the important part you left out:
"Part of loving someone is holding them accountable for their actions in a respectful and productive way -which is different from shaming them. I believe harassing Shelby isn’t productive. That doesn’t mean I, and many others in this sport, won’t expect accountability."
If you’re so starlight so bright, why don’t you tell me what’s so disgusting? Is Young not homosexual?
I don’t mean to offend Hiltz. I just don’t know what she came out as. She said she’s homosexual. Then she said she’s transgender. Then she said she’s “nonbinary.” Then she said she sometimes feels like a man and sometimes like a woman. Then she said she’s not a woman but ran on the women’s team in that race in Hawaii. Her identity keeps changing and I can’t keep up with it. Sorry.

I brought it up because it’s germane to my prediction about Smith welcoming Houlihan. Like Jesus, Smith welcomes people who are unpopular. He welcomed Rupp when many people accused him of doping because he was affiliated with Salazar. He supported Young when many people turned against him for coming out. He welcomed Hiltz, who is one of the most attacked runners in running today. Now Smith has the opportunity to welcome perhaps the most unpopular runner of all.
I paid Smith the highest compliment someone from my religion can give, and you twisted that compliment to call me disgusting. Shame on you.

That's NOT an endorsement!
Where did you get the second part of that quote from? That stuff about accountability is NOT in the story I read.

I’d love to expand a bit here- Part of loving someone is holding them accountable for their actions in a respectful and productive way -which is different from shaming them. I believe harassing Shelby isn’t productive. That d...
Of course it is not. You are citing a secondary source, specifically, Sarah Butler who has a history of twisting and ignoring facts to make Shelburrito look good.
As for Shelburrito's claims: she's gaslighting again, trying to deflect from the fact that she continued to be paid by Nike all the time. Evidence? Her prolonged "coincidental" training with BTC and continued use of the Nike facilities, see strava.
That proves my quote was NOT taken out of context. Hiltz added those thoughts on Bluesky AFTER the story was published. YOU were being misleading by combining two quotes from different places.

I can't this of a worse way to officially launch your pro group than inviting a runner who just served a 4 year ban for doping.
But I also didn't have Fred Kerley getting arrested on my bingo card so who knows.
