Disagree races are below par. 10000m is the wrong event as a marquee. Every year is a 20 lap jog with a couple of half hearted 'moves' and a kick finish. No non-athletics nuffie wants to see that. For a 10000m race to be any good you need international level depth

Add to that the dimwitted decision to put a barbecue on the infield during the distance events.
The men's 10,000m runners had to run through a thick cloud of smoke every lap until about 7kms in (presumably when an organiser realised how amateurish it made the event look).
