Thank God (aka Trump)! I am sick of these woke leftist and their anti-American agenda. I hope he changes the name of the ridiculously named “Mt. Blue Sky” back to the much more appropriate “Mt. Evans” as well. Polis and the wokes should’ve never been aloud to change that name, amirite joedirt?
There is a danger in viewing history with a modern lens. I prefer the name Mt. Evans because it does challenge one to look back at our history (warts and all). I worry more about people not knowing their history. I don’t agree with modern day book burning where we remove names / monuments because we judge historic figures with today’s ethics. Mount Blue Sky has no connection with the past. I’d prefer they rename it with an aboriginal name [as they did with Squaw Pass to Mestaa’hehe (more commonly known as Owl Woman, who was a Cheyenne married to the founder of Bent’s Fort)]. Although the Cheyenne were plains Indians who really weren’t around the area. Heck, I would have preferred if they would have kept the name as Rosalie as Bierstadt called it. I kind of liked that they had Evans, Bierstadt and Rosalie in a permanent triangle (as they were rumored to have had a real life love triangle). Rosalie was the wife of an author (Ludlow) that Bierstadt traveled to Colorado with that divorced Ludlow and married Bierstadt years later. The divorce was likely the result of alcohol, drugs and multiple affairs.
Colorado history is interesting. Like most gold rush locales, the original settlers were almost exclusively men trying to find their fortune in gold. To this day, you still see more same sex couples in mining towns (did you know that the ratio of men to women in San Francisco in 1860 was roughly 12:1?). Women often made a living as prostitutes before marrying. Many would die in childbirth. Others would die from disease, the cold, mining itself, malnutrition, alcoholism, TB, etc. It was a rough life with hard individuals. The priorities and values of those original settlers were not the same as today. It is hard to judge their behavior through a modern lens. For what it’s worth, Evans wasn’t even in Colorado when Sand Creek took place.
You have been duped if you believe that this is actually an important issue
you’re a retard who has fallen for culture war BS created by the elite to keep you not focusing on class inequality. Congrats
I think both the mountain issue and the things I named are ridiculous. I’m just pointing out that it’s not just the right focusing on stupid issues
Yeah but idk I don’t really hear the left ever caring about pronouns?? No ones getting cancelled for using the wrong pronouns. It’s the right that tries to make it a bigger issue out of that and trans people because they wanna keep their voters angry about culture war stuff that are really non-issues
We won the mountain from the Indians so we should get to name it whatever we want. Maybe the Indians shouldn't have brought bows and arrows to a gun fight.
You actually might be the most retarded dude on this whole forum
No America is not an imperialist empire. We have been corrupted and taken over by deep state globalist. These globalist have implemented Marxist style attacks. It is an attack from within.
As for Alaska, when we bought it from the Russians, they claimed to own the place and there were like 2,500 Russians there. Even then, there were only about 60,000 people total in the entire state (1 person for every ten square miles). Most of which lived on the coast. Pretty much nobody lived around Denali. Fairbanks (the closest city) has no evidence of any permanent settlements. Activities in the area were pretty much limited to seasonal hunting and fishing bands that might wander through. The Dena’ina numbered about 1,000 people spread over 41,000 square miles (1 for every 40 square miles). The worst treatment of Alaskans was by the Russians. Quite honestly, the treatment by the US has been quite good. ANCSA made them all rich. And they are getting rich exploiting their natural resources. They should name it Mt. Nixon.

I would be more excited about the English names if they were based on a cool story or an explorer climbing to the summit or something like that. But the majority are just famous politicians or nobles or rich expedition sponsors who aren't bad-ass or even connected with the mountain.
If you name a mountain after a guy who died exploring the peak, fine. But if you name it after your rich uncle, that is just lame.

From the same person who thinks your gun will protect you from a government tank.

Khamis and Steve could give him a good competition but you just might be right.
I personally don't like Indian names for anything other than our sports teams.
Previous statement amended you are the most retarded. Bro got to many vaccines cause holy sh1t he is way up on the spectrum.
Spoiler alert: his M.O. is simply to play the d_k-head in order to piss off anyone and everyone with a liberal bias. Whether or not he believes any of it, is beside the point.
You are simply being played.
Now he will change his user name for a while and post under any of his several other aliases.
Seems like Trump is focused on a lot of stuff that doesn’t matter.
Almost as important as pronouns and transgenders right?
Worst analogy ever. Comparing the renaming of a mountain, which will affect zero people to transgender issues? Weird. For whatever you think about transgender issues and the things they get wrong (like "they" and boys competing with girls) they do have have major issues t deal with political and otherwise.
Renaming a mountain is PURELY pandering to your racist petulant base.
