Dude has had crazy longevity
Qualified for the Atlanta Olympics (reached the semi-final, which he ran 1 day before his 20th birthday)
WC bronze medalist twice ('97 (only 21 years old) and '99). His PB was from the Seville final, which was really strong. 1. El G 3:27.65, 2. Ngeny 3:28.73, 3. Estevez 3:30.57, 4. Cacho 3:31.34
Estevez also held several European age records in the 1500m back in the day
U18 record: 3:42.36 (1993). Jakob broke it with 3:39.92, then Laros did 3:39.46
U20 record: 3:35.51 (1995). Jakob broke it with 3:31.18, then 3:30.16. Then Laros did 3:29.54
U23 record: 3:30.87 (1998) (Rui Silva basically tied it with 3:30.88 one year later). It's now 3:28.32 by Jakob.
Estevez also did 6:28.4 in the 2000m at age 10, which was the world age record at one point (It's now 6.12.1 by Daniel Skandera)
It would be cool to see if he can break Titus Mamabolo's 2:19:29 in the men's 50+ class
