Welcome to college sports in 2024. I suggest finding other things to do with your time since the college athletics landscape has been irreparably changed for the worse. Personally I'm hiking the Grand Canyon on Saturday and will come back to my car and check the results in the afternoon. I hope the NAU women win and the men finish strong. But it's whatever these days. All thanks to football and ESPN

What’s wrong with an American rooting for Americans? I don’t really care about another counties runners. These are American institutions and I don’t think anyone wants to see ncaa taken over by foreign athletes. It doesn’t matter what country. I just saw Oklahoma signed 3 Kenyans that will be arriving this spring. It’s not going to stop until no one pays attention to ncaa cross country.
I think you’re just racist. There’s plenty of age cheats at BYU and other universities who are American, European, etc. why not call out those people as well? Seems like you specifically have an issue with black international athletes.
Hell yeah I’m racist. My least favorite race is dellinger. But isn’t xc all about racing? We’re all racists right? I guess if you’ve never raced in your life you probably can’t call yourself a racist.
It’s going to destroy a lot of future kids getting into the sport if they have nobody to idolise at the collegiate level, they will just play football or baseball instead.
I don't think too many skinny American high school XC kids are a big threat to play D1 football. If they go the football route, they might play middle school and maybe high school at a small school.
It’s so unfair that the basketball scholarships all go to people who are tall, athletic, and can dunk. What about the rest of us?! How am I supposed to relate to that?!
It is ruined, when in one preview article there are 4 guys, three not even from America that are 26 and over. It's ridiculous, and this is not even nearly a complete sampling.
Other than Blanks, BYU's Casey Clinger and Wolfe (ninth in each of the past two years), it is hard to project any Americans finishing among the top 10. This season has represented a Kenyan takeover, led by Solomon Kipchoge, a 28-year-old freshman from Texas Tech who has run a 59:37 half-marathon. He was edged by Musau in the Big 12. There are 58 Kenyan runners on NCAA rosters. Two other Kenyan freshmen are Eastern Kentucky’s Justine Kipkoech and Alabama’s Dismus Lokira, both 26. Samuel, a two-time under-20 world medalist, is a 20-year-old sophomore out of Eritrea.
agree, in addition, most countries have their own separate championships, I wish college Americans could have their own championships separate from international competition........ besides there is plenty of international competion every year.
One of the challenges is you have athletes whose primary language is not English trying to answer questions at the press conference which puts them in a difficult position imho.

American universities arent just for Americans. Who was complaining about all those Irish guys at Arkansas and Villanova back in the day? Id support an age limit of 23 but goid luck enforcing that.
It might not be too long and there wont be any complaining about ncaa minor sports anyway. Probably going to a club system eventually Without the $$$, you cant keep water in the pool, grass mowed on the fields, equipment and uniforms updated fuel in the tanks or expect any kind of loyalty from anyone, athletes and coaches alike. Alumni wont foot the bill either. A real business model that is streamlined and efficient. Thats what the ncaa is doing now at the expense and eventual elimination of minor sports.
PS. GO Hogs!!!

I don’t think 2024 is ruined but once Parker Wolfe, Graham Blanks, and Casey Clinger graduate, it will be incredibly unlikely anyone will compete w Kenyans next year. if minor schools in the distance realm like Tulane and LSU are recruiting them then yes I don’t see how the number isn’t going to double. Almost makes you wish Peter Maru of Arkansas wasn’t banned because he is Ugandan which is kind of unique.
I don’t see how 2025 is going to remain anything other than an all Kenyan champions.
