We all know Kishane Thompson, the Paris 2024 100m silver medalist, for his exploits on the track. But he also presents as an imposing figure, at 6’1 and probably 200+ lbs of pure muscle. I can attest he is no less than 6’0.75 after having reviewed tons of footage and pictures of him and is probably right on the dot legit 6’1. Yet he is towered by a man in this picture and doesn’t look significantly taller than the other men in this photo and is only the third tallest in a group of men no larger than 6 or 7. What this demonstrates is 6’1 is roughly equivalent to what 5’11 was in the early 2000’s, and 6’0 is the true median height among American males and Jamaicans too, whose average height distributions parallel each other. In Europe the average is probably like 6’3
I think 5.9/5.10 is optimal height for males. I'm 6.1, used to be 6.2, and that's too tall in my opinion. Serves no useful purpose, beyond 🏀 basketball and or volleyball. I travel the world, and 6.1/6.2 is almost freakish in most countries. If you're thin as well (158/72kg) it's not a good look.

Not really. Being above 6 feet gives you an advantage in almost any sport. Speed-wise, streng-thwise, height is an advantage in almost everything. Just look up the heights of any athlete in a sport and it would almost always be above 6 feet.
