The men's race seems to be down to three:
Kejelcha, Mateiko, and Isaia Kipkoech Lasoi of Kenya. They went through 10K in 27:12. They are ahead of WR pace (27:16) now.
Projected time is 57:23 WR. All three runners look very comfortable.
I think Mateiko looks the most comfortable.
The lack of pacers is gonna cost them the WR.

The women's race is down to two:
EJGAYEHU TAYE (ET) and AGNES NGETICH (KE).
Both went through 5K in 14:39. That is 1:01:50 pace! The current WR and course record is 1:02:52 by Letesenbet Gidey.
Side note: How many US women can run a 5K in 14:39?
7
Agnes Negetich has taken the lead. She went through 10K in 29:18, two seconds ahead of taye.
Negetich is still running at 1:01:50 pace.
WR pace is 29:48. She is 30 seconds ahead of that!

I don't think 7 can do it at the moment. Only 3 did so in 2024.
Agnes Ngetich split 29:18 for the 10K
Taye 29:20
Who is leading the men’s race?
wdit: NN running singlet is just sitting on Yomif
Hillary Bor went through 10K in 28:13. That is 59:33 pace. Ryan Hall's AR is 59:43.

That's Daniel Mateiko of Kenya. He is running in a pack of three with Kejelcha and Isaia Kipkoech Lasoi of Kenya.
We could well see WRs in both the men's and women's races as well as an AR in the men's race.

It is disappointing. The rabbits didn't even make it to 5K. Nevertheless, I think the WR may fall.
The men were at 40:57 at 15K. Disappointingly, they are now three seconds over WR pace.
Kejelcha has now gapped the other two runners. He looks very strong.
Kejelcha has opened a huge gap in just a few hundred meters. He is flying.

Amazing pace considering the streets are not completely dry.
Kejelcha going for it !
Hillary Bor went through 15K in 42:40. That's about 1 hr pace. He is slowing. Looks like Ryan Hall's AR will last a bit longer.
Ngetich went through 15K is 44:16. That is 1:02:16 pace. She is slowing but still has a great shot at breaking Gidey's record.
New World record for women 15 km!!!
