Victimhood? My father beat me because he thought I was gay. He even used the term "gay as a three dollar bill" and I was 7...I didn't even know what that was.
I had a work manager call me a f***** fa**it at work while I was talking to a friend.
This is reality.
Imagine people being mistreated by a perception or worse..in reality
Why don't you file a human rights complaint if that happened? Or take them to court? A lot of LGBTQ are cashing in in this day and age for alleged discrimination.
Can you please explain where in any holy book that persecution of said cultures is acceptable? I don't ask that you accept any belief about the culture, but can you cite where persecution is acceptable? If so, where specifically in the passages?
It is "myriad" posts not "a" myriad. Myriad means "innumerable." At least you didn't say "a myriad of posts."
Who taught you these rules? There is nothing wrong with “a myriad of posts” and that is in fact the more traditional formal form.
I want to make it clear that probably millions of Americans are still very homophobic and harbor feelings of hate or disgust when they think about the LGBT community. That is still very real (and some of those people are not shy about "sharing" their feelings).
That said, think this thread is still a bit off-base. Just because individuals feel a certain way, doesn't mean the country is that way.
For the most part, our cultural institutions support all people, especially those who have been historically underrepresented or repressed. Would you say these groups are for or against the LGBT+ community:
Large national corporations like Apple, Nike, Google, Starbucks, etc.
Hollywood and Broadway
The actual laws on the books in the USA
Traditional media outlets like ABC, CBS, NBC, etc.
Social media influencers
Sports leagues
Public schools
Music industry
All those churches with pride flags
Universities and Colleges
Cafés and bookstores
NPR and PBS
The Federal government's own policies
etc.
I will admit that Fox and about 99% of American Evangelical churches are still pretty anti-LGBT+ . But those groups don't really represent America as much as the above groups do.

It's simple and I'm simple. .I told the owner of the store after I contacted lawyers ready to take the case ..he fired the manager. I was fine with that. I'm not about cashing in. As for my dad ...he died over 17 years ago.
I did not bring myself up as an example of sympathy but as an example of what happens a lot that is swept under the rug.
I think this is a troll post. The extra, made-up letters of the alphabet that were added to the LGBT+ moniker is a dead give away.

Um.. LGBTQIAP2S+ meaning lesbian, fat, bi-sexual, transgender, queer(or questioning), intersex, asexual, pansexual and two-spirit(originally from Canadian Cree Heritage) are all part of the Community

Just roll your way and have zero expectations out of people and you'll be ok.
Quit looking for others to praise you and do your thing

I edited my post because I realize the OP wasn't kidding. I didn't mean to be disrespectful but as a fellow liberal, we embarrass ourselves sometimes (with things like this) and I thought that was what was happening
