Practically none of her competitors voiced any displeasure with anything Shelby did, so they should be thrilled to see her back and get beat by her. Sounds fair to me.
She, like any other doper, would deny any accusations of cheating so what would be the point of the interviewer making them?
LOL - "accusations" of cheating? She literally got a four year ban for her intentional doping. The interviewer doesn't have to pretend to believe she's innocent.

Is that really true? Seem to remember a number were part of a statement ripping USATF for letting her compete at Trials before they changed course. And then outside of her BTC teammates, few competitors said anything in support. Again, the latter isn’t voicing displeasure but more just a tacit acknowledgement that they were OK with the ban/sided with the AIU.

Like her or not, she will be a force in the 5000m/10000m. Monson, Schweizer, Valby, Kelati, St. Pierre, Morgan, and now add Houlihan. Going to be a tough team to make in 2025.
Thank you to @Twoggle3 for taking the time to do your research. There’s a mixture of misinformation and a lack of information out there right now, and I think this is a great article that explains my case well. https://t.co/zsX8XkztYy
Forget anything to do with the doping, the cringiest part of the interview was the what seemed like 15 minute long discussion on super shoes that just awkwardly kept going and going where the interviewer kept pushing on about why super shoes are so great.
Not sure how the guy gets such good guests consistently lol, not the biggest fan of his style but props I guess.
I don’t like listening to podcasts. Can someone summarize the conversation?
Sure.
She blabbered on and nothing really conclusive was discussed.
Doesn't know what event she'll want to focus on, doesn't know what sponsor she wants to sign with (though probably nike), doesn't want to go back to bowerman because she doesn't like Oregon. Just wants to break alllllll the records!
She wants to make the anti doping industry more "fair", but that's only because she was caught. She has no specific goals or any specific reasons why it's so unfair, just she was caught and she shouldn't have been. So it's unfair.
They have the longest and most painful boring conversation about shoes possible. It's meandering and boring and lasts most of the podcast.
Not his strongest pod but I like The Running Effect and think Dominic does a really good job. The shoe discussion went on way too long, but otherwise a solid update on Shelburrito.
With regard to TRE and Dominic… the “kid” is 19. Not really a kid. He can fight and die for our country, so yeah…
I like his interview style and he gets great guests. The letsrun pod and his are the only 2 worthwhile ones imv. What I do wish is that he would get more into training with his guests. For me that’s what is most interesting.
Hating on the pod and Dominic is ludicrous though. He does an excellent job. Though he thought Cole winning was laughable… which I found pretty funny considering I picked him for the win and it seemed pretty obvious he was at a minimum in the conversation if not the favorite.

Naaa that's a kid lol. It just turns out kids do most of the fighting and dying "for" our country, but that's a different conversation.
She's fully aware she'll be wearing a scarlet letter for the rest of her life, and probably figures she has nothing to lose once she's back. I don't blame her for saying screw it, I'm going for all the records, don't care if you got a problem with it.

Training-wise she is doing the Norwegian method for hobbyjoggers, which is kinda funny. That doesn’t feel at all like BTC training. She’s done 8x800 w/ 45” rest, 6x1K w/ 1’ rest, 6x1200 w/ 1’ rest and even did a hills session of 200s which is standard. She does long runs, which is not really a part of it though. Her pacing is a little different (markedly faster last rep, and saying she changes gears the last 200m). I like the system for myself but she should probably be doing double-T (or a more grueling system a la Ben Thomas) if she’s aspiring to get world records.

Hi Dominic
It cracks me up to see your post. Someone accused me (an old person) of being Dominic once because I said I respected the hustle. That kid always gets the biggest names in our sport. Seriously, Nuguse, Kenneth Rooks, Parker Valby, Travis Tygart, etc. were all on there. Everyone good goes on that podcast... That kid might not be asking "hard questions" but at least we get to hear from the athletes directly.
Most other running podcasts are just fans talking about running. I love hearing from the real athletes themselves.
