Come on - if you were going to do a workout and when you got to the track you found out that there was wavelight technology that you were allowed to set to whatever pace(s) you wanted for your workout, wouldn't you use it?
That's why he sucks at racing the 1500m and has lost 4 major championships in a row.
Lol…so all runners who check their watches to see if they are on the right pace actually just suck at racing. Some insane insight here guys.
Like my old coaches always said, he's only cheating himself!
I never had a race timer stop the watch early or let me have a running start. Jakob won't always have a magic auto-pacer. Admittedly he will most of the time, but not always

Dude, he's training his muscle memory. Guessing he's hoping that the next time he sets out to grind down the field from the front with a 3:27-low pace he won't run the first lap at 3:25-mid pace.

Because he looks at the wavelight instead of his watch? You stupid fck.
You will never be able to run a perfectly even split just by looking at your watch, but you can get really close to that by chasing a pacing light. If you fail to see the difference between the two then I can't help you. And the truth is Ingy has lost all the important championships since 2021. He also screwed up his pacing in Paris as he admitted himself.

if he wants to hone his pacing, then actually he should get rid of the light and develop that internal metronome.

Josh Kerr had a point... Jakob needs to work on his weaknesses to get better at championship 1500m racing. He does really well in the DL but isn't conditioned to the championship setting

You are aware that he already won the Olympic 1500m gold medal? Is that championship setting-ish enough for you?
He is always right there at the front giving himself a chance to win in the biggest races. How many runners in history can say that? He runs multiple distances and formats. I am just happy that he's around.

Yeah and that's his first and only 1500m championship win of note and he went on to lose all of them for 3 years and didn't even make it to the podium this year.

A runner of Jakob's talent and ability should have a better track record in championship 1500s. I'm not debating whether or not he's a good runner, he has the potential to be considered one of the greatest of all time, but he got it wrong in the 1500m when it counted the past few times and I believe he needs to address those weaknesses to win more championships in the future and become the goat as he said he wants to.
What's a bigger training aid: 1) pace lights, or 2) having cyclists ride in front at a certain speed? Team have been using cyclist pacers for decades...

Josh Kerr also lost three in a row, then won once, then lost again. He sucks as well!
