Epic to see him win easily after travelling to Zurich to use the 1500m as a warmup and rust buster. Clearly 3:44 is better then the winning time of the 1500m in Zurich. Jakob will be sent home devastated when he meets Josh again. Josh can get the WR next year in the 1500m and mile and a 3,000m
Funny troll. Kerr did appear remarkably relaxed since he knew he had no real competition, unlike Paris and Zurich where he showed his true abilities in comparison to the world’s best.
Kerr is a power runner with speed. I can't see anyone ever beating him in a mile road race. No one else will come near that 3:44 record for this race. Fantastic run by Kerr. Smoked them all.
5th Ave is net downhill. Most people I talk to add 3sec to get a track mile.
Great job by Kerr. Nice work by Hoey 2nd in 3:49
Was surprised to see Kessler 9th in 3:53
It was particularly fast for the elites as the wind went from westward and swirling in the early AM to a straight on tailwind. I think you’re talking about 4-5s, which tracks with a pretty conservative first 700 or so. Women’s improves on Schweizers converted PB by 4s roughly I think. Makes sense as that one was fast from the gun.

I have ran the 600m WR downhill in order to get a strava segment, do I get a medal or certificate or something?

Kerr has undoubtedly had a great season but in my mind Olympic gold trumps World Champs gold. In terms of the usual suspects I would rank them Hocker/Jakob/Kerr. Though personally my favorite middle distance runner of the year was Kessler. Showed huge improvement in all facets of racing and seemed composed and level headed.
