I don't agree. SML will beat Mondo over 400 but it will be epic. SML 47-high to 48-low, Mondo 48-high at best.
Top short sprinters - and I agree Mondo is seriously fast out of the blocks but he's not even a 200m guy - rarely extend beyond 200 unless that's their regime. Linford Christie and Carl Lewis for instance, both at low-47 for 400 despite their 9.8s for 100 and 19.7/20.0 for 200. Mondo has zero conversion and will struggle for 21-low at 200 with a total collapse after that.
Sadly I doubt SML has the sense of fun needed to go for it vs. Mondo. Despite her trash talk last year SAFP bottled out when it became evident Mondo would smoke her.
Maybe the DL organizers could make Syd's DL Final participation contingent on victory over Mondo in their 400m duel the preceding day.
I don't think that we should get ahead of ourselves here he hasn't talked to Sydney and i don't think she would agree (could be wrong here tho) but Mondo has also been training for the 100 which is crazy different from the 400 let alone he has his own event to worry about in Brussels being the pole vault where even with how dominant he is i don't think it would be easy to back it up post 400m but by all means i would be happy to be proved wrong

No way she is close to 47low. Mondo has the strength and clearly the speed. To think he can only do 48high is delirious. He could run that as a soph in HS. Mondo by +.5sec if not more.

As posted yesterday, Mondo could be one of or maybe the best Decathletes is he trained for it.
If they do this race, it should be from the 200m lane marks for the first turn and then merge on the backstretch like they do with the 800m. I think the tactics of getting to the inside for the final turn would make it a more interesting race.

Okay mondo is quick and so i femke but sprinting is related to pole vault and 400 hurdles but the steeple has no incentive for mondo and idk but my guess is that he wont have any 3000m speed
Sure he could run that with some training, but Sydney can run a 47 high (to 48 low) right now, especially if she is on his inside. Not sure how good Mondo will be at the pacing on such short notice. I'd take Sydney over Mondo if she got the inside lane.
Is the matchup possible? ... everyone has a price, but my guess is that Sydney's is quite high.
