The posters that are condoning Gjert and child abuse likely also self-identify as Republicans, Christians, and people of upstanding moral character. They claim to abhor human trafficking and buy into pedophilia conspiracy theories while believing that society would be better behaved if we physically and psychologically beat children on the regular.
not true in the least. i'd say quite the opposite for most everyone- i am both Christian and Republican- child abuse is inexcusable. kind of strange that you felt the need to bring in religion and politics. maybe give that a rest on at least this thread?
Quite the other way around. Gjert gave Kristoffer attention and desperately wanted him to become the number one runner in the world. They used to do long runs together where Gjert would berate him and he suffered panic attacks as a result. On one of these runs, Gjert punched him, effectively pushing him into the streets with traffic. Then he punched him twice more. This was after he expressed that maybe he didn't want to be the best in the world. When they got home Tone (the mother) figured out what had happened, but declared to the rest of the household that Kristoffer "is just feeling sad". She completely neglected her son and never even asked him about the episode

You people disgust me. You are all hypocrites. If your home life was placed in a fish bowl, then you wouldn’t act so holier than thou. If a kid is disciplined, this is good. Part of the problem is I can see some of you are so soft and pathetic. I had many teammates like you. Just weak people mentally.
What is wrong with everyone on this site? I don’t care how good Jakob became, child abuse is inexcusable. You all disgust me.
You are a black and white thinker. Nuance escapes you.
There is no world of "nuance" where striking a child, or putting a toddler in a freezing bathtub, or choking someone else is in any way, shape, or form acceptable.
It takes a straight up insecure, cowardly loser to engage in any of these activities. It takes a "man" who is so weak and scared that he has to get his sons to go do what he lacked the courage or talent to do, to engage in any of these activities. It takes a man who is afraid to stand up to true authority figures, and instead of dealing with that choosing to compensate by dominating those less powerful, to engage in any of these activities.
Let’s Parent.com - Where the beatings will continue until you win gold and make papa famous.
Beatings? You don’t know what a beating is.
I suppose by your comment that you do? Please, indulge us. Describe what a real, acceptable "beating" is. And, tell us more about how we are failing to use nuance to define "beatings."

Oh please. Please do NOT have children. You don’t have what it takes.

You likely have no idea what it takes to instill discipline. No wonder you sound so self righteous.

I would much rather have Gjert as a father than you. You are weak so you are not a good role model for children. You aren’t half the man Gjert is. If he struck his child, maybe they was a mistake, but he wasn’t afraid of his own children, as you would be.
I think it's mostly just this one person being defensive of Gjert. Perhaps out of guilt for their own actions? Who knows.
Being serious for a second. A good father should instill discipline but also a good father should know when they've gone too far and recognize when their actions or words have hurt their children. A good father will take time to reflect on this sort of thing and change, showing their kids that growth is sometimes hard but necessary in relationships. Anyway, my 2 cents as a dad.

Yes you are correct. A good father will learn from his mistakes.
