Hopefully Gjert gets the punishment he deserves, and doesn't abuse Jakob's youngest brother.
We don’t know that Gjert deserves any punishment because we don’t know if he’s guilty or if Jakob is lying. The fact that Jakob has had three long interrogations makes me question the veracity of his statements.
How about we hope that justice is served?
Five of the children stand together against Gjert. It's not just Jakob's words against Gjert.
Jakob completed interrogation as he alleged allegations against Gjert as Gjert was allegedly an abuse as that's why Jakob alleged against him as the police got involved as they began an investigation as they needed to talk to Jakob for the investigation as Jakob did it

Yes and one of the siblings publicly defended Gjert. The lack of complete sibling unity is what first made me question the allegations. The charges that got dismissed was the second reason for me to question the allegations. These long interrogations of Jakob are the third reason. I suspect there are inconsistencies between his testimonies and his siblings’ testimonies.
Charges was not dropped with regards to all the siblings. After initially stopping the investigations into the alleged abuse of 3 of the siblings investigations have been reopened in one case.

Probably Jakobs case.
Terese Braut Våge, head of police in southeastern Norway, told The Associated Press that cases involving five other alleged victims had been dismissed “on the basis of the evidence” and in one case because of a statute of limitations.
Norwegian police say the father and former coach of Olympic champion runner Jakob Ingebrigtsen has been charged with abusing one of his other children.
Because it’s normal for the accused to defend themselves. Is it normal for the accuser to be brought in three times for long interrogations? That makes me wonder if there are holes and inconsistencies in his testimony.
Yes, this type of investigation is normal in Norway, and in many other places in Europe.
I think the straw that broke the camels back was whatever he did to Ingrid. You could tell in watching Team I and in other joint interviews that the brothers were very protective of her.
He already doesn't live with his dad anymore and seemingly doesn't keep in contact with him.
Jakob's an adult now -- does Gjert still pose a threat to him? Or is Jakob just seeking retribution for alleged past wrongdoings?
If it's the latter, I find this all a bit over the top even if he was spanked around as a kid for misbehaving.
No he wasn't spanked around as a kid only. He was spanked around at 17 (still kid), 18, (no more kid), 19 (no more kid), 20 (no more kid), 21 (no more kid).
But for me, that's still pretty standard and normal in traditional patriarchal families you feeling me sir???? Boys and men and XY chromosomes are highly prized and sought after to the extent that fathers have sky high demands for all their sons!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their sons are supposed to speak and behave with honor and integrity. They were supposed to 'man up' and start taking responsibility for themselves and their families!!!!!!!!
Khabib Nurmagomedov, a traditional Russian, was still smacked by his father at 29 years old!!!!!!! And yet, look for yourselves, father and son are so much in love with each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How in the world sir???????
If this is the case, then I cannot accept Gjert smacking Jakob as the only reason for their estrangement. There needs to be at least 1 other variable involved in the estrangement!!!! It's not that straightforward sir!!!!
That's how I do reason and persuasion!!!!

Why go against your father like that? You have the money to live far away from him. Live in peace.
Correct, that's the correct view. Live and let live especially if it's your own bloodline and father!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poor Daddy Gjert being sued by his own son for loving him too well!!!!!!!
Hopefully Gjert gets the punishment he deserves, and doesn't abuse Jakob's youngest brother.

Yeah I also wonder if it was simple straightforward case of criminal assault with a weapon like a knife or scissors, Gjert would be easily charged and jailed!!!!! Jakob would have a gaping wound in his stomach or chest due to the assault and requiring surgery and hospital leave to recuperate!!!!!! But none of this has happened and instead police seems to be in doubt enough to require such a long time to ascertain fact from fiction?????
I heard that the police interrogated him a second time later in the day with similar, but slightly different questions. The Norwegian police have had a lot of success with double interrogation days.
I heard they use lactate measurements as a lie detector

You are also effectively saying that it is normal for the guilty to deny their guilt. If it were not so there would never be the need for a trial as the guilty would always confess to their wrongdoing. They often don't.
Since we have no idea what the police have discussed with Jakob we can form no view about what those interrogations amounted to. But what is significant is that Gjert is facing criminal charges.

What you are doing is expressing scepticism at the charges against Gjert. Have you any idea what it would have taken for 3 of his children to bring those charges against him? Yet you show a clear inclination to disbelieve them, without even having heard any evidence.
I see lots of people criticising Jakob for reporting on his father.
as someone who endured a childhood/adolescence of physical and emotional abuse from my (also coach) father, and has never spoken about it, (not looking for sympathy!!) I think it must have taken some ‘straw to break the camel’s back’ so to speak. I know that I have ‘swept my past under the carpet’ and only once in a while I find myself angry/upset about what happened, but I am pretty sure that if my father repeated his actions now, I certainly would report on him. I suspect Gert crossed the line in some form when the brothers were adults and in a better position of power., so they have reported.
while messy and no doubt hurtful for all, I think what they have done is so brave, particularly given that they are so prominently in the public eye. people need to learn to refrain from victim blaming.

Skepticism is appropriate when taking into account the three reasons I listed for being skeptical. Most people here want Gjert thrown in jail without knowing the evidence. I believe in due process and innocence until proven guilty.
Who are you to talk about “a clear inclination to disbelieve them, without even having heard any evidence.” That’s what you do everyday here when you disbelieve that runners are clean without having any evidence that they’re doping. Judging me for being skeptical when you are the most skeptical person on this board is hypocritical.
