I'd just like to take a moment of silence for all the geniuses that keep estimating Jakob's 5000 potential as 12:48 in every thread about him.
Lol, imagine going through life being so brain dead that you can't grasp that 12:48 is nowhere near his current fitness. When he runs 12:30 something or better, what will they say next?

Yeah, probably some variation of "to the gills!1!"

Points table gives 12:30.68 5k conversion for this performance. Please let him move up soon, I’m beginning to think that his goal to break every world record from 1500m up might be actually feasible for him. I mean I think he can probably handle 10ks based on how he embarrasses everyone at Euro cross.

The bloke trains like a half marathoner with some 1500m specialist work in the last few weeks of a block. He said himself the HM is probably his best distance, which means all records from 1500 to HM are up for grabs.
Not that surprised. Even a little off what I was expecting, seeing the performances that Pogacar and others did a month ago... the new rocket fuel was bound to reach running sooner rather than later.
He ran 12:48 when he was like 19 or 20. He is so much stronger now. He could break that world record easily and the 10k record as well. The mile record goes this year for sure! Before his career is over he will hold every world record from the 1500 to the 10K and multiple Olympic and World Champ gold medals in the 5 (well the 5 already) but also the 10k and he's only 23, I think he will win a gold in a 1500m. Remember Hicham El Guerrouj won his 1500m Olympic gold medal at 30 and Coe won his 2nd 1500m gold medal at 27. Jakob is only 23 and his range is scary. We are watching something very rare here. I remember when Africans or those born in Africa ruled the distances for like 20 or 30 years. Jakob is like Michal Jordan he was born with this. Remember Jordan used to get beat all the time in Championship level games as well and won his first NBA Championship at like 27 or 28 or older. A European or one from a Western country not born in African like Mo Farah, has not dominated since Lasse Virén in the 70's and Viren did not have this range. We are watching something very special and it may not be truly appreciated until years after he retires.
Perfect pacing and then closing out with all you got left in the last two laps! As usual the announcers were ridiculous... Instead of talking about the race at hand they kept talking about Komen's world record race. Obviously he was sandbagging it the other day and still beat Cole Hocker. I believe he will break the 5,000 m record but I doubt that he will break it by 5 seconds. His time today is the best points total on the tables of anything from the 1500 to the 10,000.
