Yep, I once wore a heeled shoe and thought I would pass out from the lack of oxygen. It's tough up there.
Says a guy who never lived and trained at sea level and then raced at 1700 feet.
And also never learned how to construct a joke that's funny
Lived and trained at sea level my entire life. In high school our state meet was held at 2000+ ft and it was never a problem for anybody. 1700 ft is nothing.
American exceptionalism is the belief that the United States is either distinctive, unique, or exemplary compared to other nations. Proponents argue that the values, political system, and historical development of the U.S. ar...
The elephant in the room is that nothing can explain his improvement, other than drugs.
Right? I mean, how do you explain that Ingebrigtsen did ol' Coley one better by improving 17 seconds in just 7 years. No possible explanation, right? Had to be drugs, right? Let's not talk about 5000m training and the strength benefits he could get from that. That would be silly. Let's not talk about the fact that he hasn't been hurt this year. Health has never played a role in improvement. Let's not discuss how his racing tactics have improved. Running the pole versus running in lane two has no effect on final times. Surely, he couldn't have had the good fortune to have peaked at the right time. Craziness!! In fact, only drugs would explain all of that, right??
Not travelled to US to wrap up season without distractions. And he does not think he was the underdog as he was well prepared to peak at the Olympics. He is determined to prove that he is neither JK or JW one race wonders. He is here to stay and he is not ready to lose a 1500M this season. Do you believe it?

I watched the whole thing too. On a scale between humble and cocky, I would say he was closer to humble than cocky. But he is also definitely confident, which is a different thing. Also he gave thoughtful answers instead of the usual clichés.
Jacob is a total non-threat at the 1500m. I'm certain most runners see him as a rabbit and nothing more after his embarrassing debacle at Paris. In fact if Jacob is smart, he should agree to be the pacemaker and get some extra pay while he's at it
Hocker has nothing to be afraid of. He is the clear favourite here and should cruise to an easy win with Kerr opting out of this race

Hocker explained it , taken two years to build his strength and endurance. Showed up at X Country. 3.27. is not an outlier by any stretch. All the Paris24 medalist are in this range.
The elephant is consistency can he run 3.27 regularly? And can he stake his claim as the best in 1500M athlete this year?

It is a continuum a spectrum , confidence to over confidence. Losing is an integral part of the process. No one is unbeaten at this level. I knew a gold medal was a possibility. I said that after the U.S. Trials. It's just words until it actually happens but I actually executed on it. On WR I hope to take a stab at that whether it’s this season? I hate losing. Every time I race, I want to win.
