Whenever i try and run with a faster cadence i get tired way faster and it feels less efficient.
You have your answer.
Thats not exactly what i meant. When i run with a faster cadence it feels like it takes less effort, and my legs feel better, but i end up slowing down and feeling tired faster. Its weird because my heart rate doesn’t go up a whole lot more, and my legs feel fine, but something about the faster cadence just makes me feel like stopping. Maybe its that my body just isn’t used to it yet? But especially at faster paces, a higher cadence feels like it should be much more efficient. I just end up getting tired much earlier than i would with a lower cadence
Yes, I run at 173 7:00/km - 5:00/km and then 180 under 4:55/km and I'm 6'4". You aren't using the natural elastic recoil tendencies in your ITB and Achilles with that low cadence. Just using your strength to hit pace. I can run 16:21 barefoot and it's 180 at least only go above 180 at mile pace and lower. My footfalls are super quiet when I run with others you can't hear mine.
