Yeah I hope we see him at Boston/NY a few times to round out his career. KB has had some good master's results. Maybe he can pull off a couple more good ones. Dk how much that interests him. Interesting to hear them announce no LA now. Obviously he'd be 43 then but it almost sounds like he might be done racing. He doesn't need to prove anything.
Why is Kipchoge so weak versus hills? Does he never train them?
He may be weak on hills but it looked like he was nursing a hip or maybe sacrum injury from pretty early on in today’s race.
Yep. I stayed up to watch it live. He fell off the lead pack early on. He hadn’t even reached the hills yet. He was shown on camera grabbing at his left side, hip/lower back area, kind of looked like he was working out a side stitch. At that point he was already way behind.
Also, that was such a stupid course. Whoever thought that it was a good idea to send them up and down those hills needs to be fired. 10% grade???
Eliud, you're the GOAT, but, respectfully, it's time to retire. Everybody knows you're on the team only due to your stature in the sport and country, not because they thought you could win..
2003 to 2024 at super elite level is no joke. We love you and you'll forever be a legend. Enjoy your farm and kids and maybe we'll see stadiums and streets named after you soon.
Exactly man show some respect man! Did you even watch the race? That course was brutal in hot and humid conditions. it doesn’t mean he is done, his hip was bothering him after the first ascent. He might not like to race on hills, to each his own😉 You might see him in Chicago in Fall.
Not very hot, just a little hot. Not very humid either. Tola ran a new Olympic record, so definitely not brutal course nor brutal conditions. Kipchoge just don’t like hills in combination with a bad day and maybe injury.
