They only get one attempt?? or she missed several?
She entered at 1.71M and missed all 3 attempts. This is what a choke looks like, no other way to say it.
It takes a certain type of person to see a girl crying after her whole livelihood comes crashing down and say "I must take this oppurtunity to destroy her". Take a look at yourself fella.

I think she would agree that she choked, it's not a derogatory, it's an observation. People here were saying Sha'Carri choked and she won silver, my point is that this is actually what a choke looks like. Like it or not, it is what it is.
Could this be the year that neither the men or women 4 x 100 fk up their passes in the final? You'd think for always being considered for gold that they'd work on this enough. It's incredible how bad they always are at it.

I wonder if the coach told her to pass. I can't believe she was shocked and didn't know what to do like she didn't know that a NM means you're out.
Not much margin between 1,71 and 1.85, the better play would have been to enter sooner and get a mark down. One extra jump would not have killed her.
Yeah at this stage with the nerves it's better to play safe and make sure you stay in the competition. Terrible to see this...
Yeah, obviously hindsight's 20/20 but I get why someone with medal hopes didn't want to put a bunch of extra jumps in her legs. Bottom line is she knows she should've cleared that and she didn't, that's why she was so stunned.
I hope a reporter asks her whose decision it was to start at 1.71, from how awkward that interaction was between Chari and her coach I got the feeling they weren't on the same page there

You only take 3 and you take them all because they can mean points.
Dawn Harper-Nelson is killing it on the Peacock commentary this morning. Her analysis is on point, her enthusiasm is palpable, and “so many storylines at the starting line” is gold.
Great stuff from Bill Spaulding and Darrell Hill as well, especially in the heptathlon where they’ve focused on the whole field, but wanted to specifically call out Harper-Nelson as it took her a few sessions to get going, but she really has.
