howard was doing ok, think she is about to get dropped tho
Good for her to make it, she's now official as an Olympian. I'm of the; you need to actually compete at the Olympics to actually be an Olympian mindset, rather than just making the team.
She keeps her momentum and just tap-touches the barrier. This is the technique of the very best in the world.
And that goes against American teaching, which teaches to spring up high off the water barrier in order to try and clear the water. The problem with that is it taxes the leg muscles A LOT more from the much higher ballistic polymeric load, and it is more conducive to injury.
Unfortunately, the Americans are so dense they haven’t yet picked up on what the World Record holder in the event is doing.
The American announcers don’t understand it. On the CBC feed, both John Anderson and Carrie Toffleson said Beatrice was slipping (screwing up) her water jumps.

Go back and look at the first one, she slipped. NO one is debating you about her technique, you are acting like you invented it. Yeah, we've all seen her do it forever now, but you need to recognize when she actually does slip, like everyone else apparently saw happen.
Stop being a douche, that first one was not purposeful, she damn near twisted her foot/ankle. I know how she takes barriers and that first one was not on purpose.
Douche? She did it purposely for EVERY water barrier, sparky, just like I said she would.
A pity - she will be kicking herself for her 2021 200m let-up in the heats. Although she may not have beaten ETH on that final day she likely would've medalled.
(good thing I changed my picks too once she dropped the 100m)

Yes, douche! This is what happens when someone just discovers something and then feels like they are now an expert. LMAO.

Acting like I invented, idiot? I just told you, after you tried to correct me, she would be doing it on EVERY jump, and even the American announcers of Tollefson and Anderson don’t get it, yet. They will eventually.
However, Kara Goucher did pick up on the ‘difference’ in the steeple in the Eugene race. But it is not (yet) being taught widespread in America.
The classic American technique has resulted in injury to their three best steeplers: Coburn, Frerichs, and Constien.
Guys, with all this bickering no one’s going to post in this thread.
Back to the track, we have a real problem in the W200, where 90%+ of the best athletes are from the US, but only three can compete at global championships. The event lacks interest, especially in these weak heats.
