I was texting the guys in Paris some ideas for post-100m questions and they just texted back that they've been told she won't be attending the post-race press conference.
All I can say is our sport continues to be a joke in terms of its professionalism.
Can someone imagine Lebron skiped the post-NBA finals press conference? Of course not. He'd be fined.
Yes, i Know Lebron is paid millions and Sha"Carri is paid nothing by the IOC but our sport needs to get a backbone and require people to attend post-race medal press events. The reality is Sha'Carri is a multimillionaire because of the possiiblity of her being the Olympic 100m champion.
If she was running the 200m tmw morning (She isn't), I could understand.
(1) why do you use the word as so much?
(2) she’s the athlete she can do what she wants. Your job doesn’t exist without athletes like her
(3)Lebron and other NBA players have “skiped” press conferences all the time.
NBA players are fined for skipping a press conference. So are NFL players.
Marshawn Lynch was supposedly fined more than $1 million throughout his career for missing press conferences.
NBA and NFL players make much more than professional track athletes. It is amazing how many track athletes complain about not making enough money but also complain about the media. People do not recognize that the media is the reason other sports make so much money is because of the media.

Hey dawg, you really criticizing someone for not being "professional" enough? Why don't you go buy a mirror and take a look at it.
Even on your own forum you're the butt of all the jokes because of how much of a clown you are.
What, you were texting some real insightful questions? I saw your brother's questions during the 10k presser and they were... Uninspired. Not sure how much effort y'all even put in - probably too busy criticizing the libs or something...

Okay what’s your point? Was the press crying about Marshawn Lynch skipping a widdle old pweas confwence?

Bingo. Rojo is peak unprofessionalism. He’s not even at the Olympics, is he? What a joke. Does he think if he worked for NBC or Runners World that he could just skip the Olympics because…why exactly isn’t he there? This is his only job

Lol Rojo isn’t at the olympkcs bc no chik fil a in Paris lol
I am happy that Sha’Carri isn’t going to have to answer the ridiculous questions. Maybe Rojo you could list the questions here that you wanted asked?
Sigh, the culture of victimhood just perpetuated by fake, white-guilt altruists like you isn't it.
But sure, let's just make every excuse we can in the world for her behaviour - that will help her long term in her lifes journey. God forbid she just ever sat down like an actualized, rational human whose entire identity wasn't derived from sprinting 100m and just answered some questions (some which might be painful/difficult) with grace. Not like she's making millions of dollars per year to do this or anything where I'm pretty sure the non-track alternative path in life isn't anything as privileged as this.
Grow up.

So what you think answering a few vapid questions from numnuts wejo is gonna help her grow personally?? Really??
Let her employers talk to her if they think she isn't delivering on her end of the deal. She's not making millions to go to a single press conference, just like I'm not making my salary based off of 1 email I missed.
Y'all are pretending like her choosing not to go to the presser is some ultimate failure but will ignore that she got a silver medal in the Olympics. It's mind boggling.

Yes. Facing some questions from journalists, however uncomfortable, will make her grow. Time to become an adult.

Actually I do. I do think that would help her personally. I think there is a lot of value in having the humility to front up when things don't your way and talk honestly about them. You're acting like this is some 3 hour long inquisition they have to go through.
SCR was the favorite and is one of the highest profile athletes in team USA - she could have even shown up, spoken from her heart about how she tried her absolute best but it just wasn't meant to be and respectfully left - she didn't even need to answer a specific question at all.
I would personally have been incredibly impressed with something of that nature which and that would have actually convinced me she had truly grown up after the 21 trials/post trials antics. All I'm left with is that she is still just a very fast female sprinter with very little to relate to or like.
Left at the start and never really looked a threat. Silver at the Olympics though is a great achievement. Understandably would through be utterly disappointed and probably better to skip the press for the moment. I agree not prfessional, but she's only human.
I have no opinion either way as to whether she should or shouldn't be required to attend a press conference or not. But other professional sports do require their athletes to be available to the media after competitions. Remember Naomi Osaka's problems with tennis's requirement that she meet the media after matches a few years ago?

Too bad for you. I’m growing more enamored with each passing day.

Your racism is well camouflaged but only to the morons. The intelligent can see right through you.

I will add Sally that you are the last person who should be lecturing people on how to behave. You lose your temper and go ballistic like a 9 year old fairly frequently here. Check yourself. We see you.

Humility? American sprinters? Don't make me laugh. Love em or hate em humility is in short supply.
Her way of saying I don't believe the result or that someone like her can run like that against me with daylight second, something doesn't smell right.
