1. A wr in a weak event that is hardly contested isnt a reason to not run fresher and faster legs in the final. Like almost all other teams did. Usa could beat that world record with 12-16 different athletes lol.

2. Him not caving to outside pressure just means he probably made the decision himself, and he himself didnt want quincy on the team lol. Which was a bad call.

Yes it was guys like you. Others (like me) wrote on other threads that this was a bad idea, perhaps because we coach kids at his age and understand the damage a long season with no international experience can do to the emotions of a young person. These are NOT robots, they are kids. Relays add their own pressure to team mates, and the US is about getting Gold, or it is deemed a failure (see mixed team after getting the world record - poor coaching advice to not replace anyone).

He is a kid, why would you expect him say anything - he was likely overwhelmed by the whole experience. That is why other developmental meets are there - like WorldU20 that he could have done instead which is in two weeks. Instead of being embarrassed and now having to live with it for the next 4 years, he could have come back with a different gold (assuming that we win the 4x4) from that meet having worn a USA vest. Just because you people are marginally involved in the sport, if at all, think that you know what is best, we coaches see the LTAD as we have been educated as to its efficacy in bringing along athletes carefully, not throwing them into the deep end when they are not ready for it. The psychological side to racing is real, it isn't just about what workouts you do.
