He currently probably spends 25% of the time on the bike that top tour athletes do. He has so much room to improve.
Doesn't really work that way. When Lance made his second comeback, he had gained way too much muscle mass and couldn't lose it. Lance was physically carrying way too much weight compared to the other pro cyclists even after 2 years of training again.
Hours wise, Blummenfelt probably already trains for the same number of hours as the pro cyclists across the triathlon events and yet his FTP is not impressive at all for his size. If Blummenfelt had any talent for cycling, he would be able to generate a lot more power right now with his body size, but he doesn't.
