she should be fired based on the interview answers she gave in the days after.
she said they didn't any one that roof because they generally don't like to put their people on pitched roofs:
1) that roof has barely any pitch
2) the roof her own sniper was on - was extremely pitched! go back and look the pictures
She just contradicted her own policy.
next - she said her sniper had to make a split second decision - false
1) we have now found out that her sniper had the suspect in sight 20 min before the shooting
2) left his post to speak to someone about the suspect 6 min before the shooting = you never leave your post
3) took the shot - not within a split second - but more like 20+ seconds later.
So saying he made a split second decision is absolutely false.
It is as if they wanted this kid to take the shot and gave him every opportunity to so do. He got off what 4 or 5 rounds.
Finally since the kid was on the roof and unidentified secret service should have pulled the speaker of the stage immediately until that person was removed or identified as one of theirs.
This was a failure on so many levels and yes, she is the person to blame as the one who hires and trains and directs etc. They had so many chances to stop this shooting from ever happening. Did you see the pic of the kids bike and backpack left unattended.? You never leave a backpack unattended. Why didn't the moron taking the photo go search it? Why would you let someone roam around the building? Why wouldn't someone with a range finder be a huge red flag? Why wouldn't your sniper shoot the second you identify this kid has a gun and is pointing it at the speaker.?
Why are you secret service agents around the former President looking like they have never pulled the guns out of a holster in their lives? Haven't they been trained? They acted like they didn't know whether to pull their guys out or rebolster them...and they did not do this smoothly. Who hired these people? Who is responsible for this total and colossal failure?
She is. as head of the secret service
If you can't do the job, step down.
