I will say that everyone seems to really like Kipyegon. You would have thought there would be some jealousy or someone levying an acquisition if they really thought she was a blatant cheat. I think she just may be really really good.
There is a psychological burden to corruption and deception for the Africans. Hull running only with righteous jubilation came very close.
I feel like this has to be a joke lmao but people are responding so seriously to it
lol got 'em. I got some traction with my earlier comment "she looks clean, just full of spirit", so I went over the top with this one. People want to see this sort of comment so they can react to it.
It feels amazing to break the world rcord. I am in the right direction towards the Paris Olympics. I have come from far because of the injury and recovering. After the trials I knew that I was in world record shape, I have run the quickest time in Kenya with the altitude. It showed me that I was capable of breaking the world record again. We just tried, because everything is possible. Jessica was really good, I felt that she was behind me and I had to be careful because you never know if something can happen. But I just relaxed and ran my race. I knew that she is strong because she has broken the area record many times. The crowd was really cheerful, that was why the energy was so strong, it is really pushing us towards the finish line. With my injuy I was really scared, because I didn't know if I was going to make it. But I took my time and trusted my team and stayed out of competition for long. I will absolutely do the double in Paris, in the 1500m and 5000m.
There was a point before the pacers dropped out where I said to the Mrs. “holy shlt, wtf are they doing? They are absolutely hauling asz! What the hell?!?!”
Was this a WR attempt from the outset? Looked like it to me. Man were they ever moving, from early on.
One guy once told me everything you are seeing under 13:30 or 7:45 is doped to the gills man! These Africans are cheating period. At the time he was running 3:37 on 1500m. That guy ran 3:32 this year and 7:35 today on that meet, what am I supposed to think of him🤣🤣
I get it now, when is Jacob coming from injury and runs 3:45 on the mile it’s truly amazing, when Americans drop almost 9 flat on steeplechase or a French doing it it’s alright! I guess it’s alright when it’s all white damn! That hatred is almost funny now to me!
Kipyegon's race is perfect evidence toward how Ethiopia chose its 1500 team. They made absolutely the correct decision. Frewenyi Hailu never would have gone with that pace today. And if you don't go with the pace at women's 1500 these days you are immediately irrelevant.
Immense kudos to Jessica Hull. She took the same risk today that Birke Haylom took early season in Xiamen, going with Gudaf Tsegay's blistering pace. Both were rewarded with huge personal bests. Haylom didn't hold on as well as Hull did because she's a decade younger.
Tsegay, Haylom and Welteji will go with Kipyegon. There may be a few others, including Hull and probably Chepchirchir. Certainly Hassan, if she enters. Let's hope St. Pierre was watching and gets the hint. The race will be immediately strung out and no excuses from behind. If you don't go with the lead pack you are running for your family members, not for medals.
