This is the problem with the sport when the entire focus is on the Olympics. A number of other people in equally strong events in the USA - Sprint hurdles, etc. - are running great times but not going either. There is great depth in the US in many events - if you don't like it, compete for another country. I feel for the 4th best runners in Ethiopia where making their teams is equally difficult, if not more difficult., on the women's side -for example their 1500m.
I agree with this! If she does well in Diamond or makes a world team, she needs to be celebrated for that.
I just watched the race on Youtube. There's nothing to cry about here. Sinclaire was perfectly positioned starting the bell lap, but it looked like other runners just blew past her almost without effort. Sinclaire needs a kick or she will not beat these other women. If she can't get a kick, she needs to become much stronger so she can run at the front and wear out the kickers. My two cents, just speaking as a track fan, not an elite runner myself obviously.
I'm not a fan of Hiltz. This obsession with pronouns irritates me. Hiltz is a woman, she runs in women's races because she's a woman, and if she doesn't like being a woman that's too bad but doesn't change reality.
By the way, I usually vote for Democrats. I don't see this as a political issue. I see it as a common-sense issue.

She should definitely have pivoted to triathlon...
This interview from CITIUS, especially 2:04-2:23...wow. You really have to feel for her, she did everything right, ran one of the fastest times in American history, an absolutely perfect tactical race...and it just wasn't enough. Really hope she has a good support system and recovers well from this, because man, I don't know if I could handle it if I was her.
....
YES Sir of all the 4th place finisher in the distance events my heart goes out to Sinclair. She runs one of the fastest time by an American and still not enough to make the team. How many Americans ran sub 3:59 (7 or 8). That's more than Ethiopia and Kenya this late in 2024! 😮WOW
She looks down when she runs consistently in races, especially when she is trying to draft and 'zone out'. Can't do that and have the rest of your body land directly over your center of mass during your stride cycle. You end up slightly heel striking even in spikes, causing a poor stride cycle that leads to the potential for legs issues when running at faster paces/racing more often.
Get your head up and hips under you Johnson! Glute/Hip strength needed perhaps.

I hope they eventually make the change for non-Olympics (I get that the Olympics is more about global representation), that they get as many athletes who are top 20 types as possible into the event. No offense, but the idea that Ben Flanagan, Patrick Dever or Brian Fay goes to a Worlds while Addisu Yihune or Biniam Mehary has to stay home is ludicrous. And I like all those guys, but come on. Ditto Sinclaire and someone like Sophie O'Sullivan. Shamier Little and all these women who can barely break 55s in the 400H or 51.5 in the 400m. Christian Coleman and...yeah you get the point.
I dunno, the IAAF seems pretty invested in representation at WC too. Isn’t the Diamond League final more in line with what yo are looking for?
