I never thought I'd see Kara Goucher explaining the steeplechase to Snoop Dogg, but here we are.

Side note: I also recently learned (through my kids' toddler Pandora station) that he does nursery rhymes and kid songs now, "Doggyland."

I thought that his commentary during the first 2 water jumps of the steeple was hilarious and awesome. He really seemed like he was enjoying the race. NBC then proceeded to move the steeple to a little box so they could show a few commercials. Snoop isn't the problem.

He also broke 35 seconds in the 200m! Not bad for a 52 year old stoner who likely doesn't train at all.

Snoop doesn't trip over his words like Leigh "Tom Williams, I mean Todd, and Max Shorter" Diffey. If he were to take the job seriously, he'd do a far better job. Pair him up with Ato, Kara, and Sanya, and put Dan O Brian on the interviews and it would be a solid product. Maybe Dr Dre could do the production instead of whoever thinks it's a good idea to cut away to commercial from the middle of the steeplechase, then return and go straight to the javelin.

Does anyone really think Snoop Dogg is good for the sport. He knows nothing about Track & Field and it makes a Mockery of the Sport. Couldn't NBC at least find a person who did the sport. If I want to see this crap during the Super Bowl I can watch Nickelodeon TV.

I thought it was amusing. I also had no idea he was so tall. Or that NBC guy was very short, one or the other.

I just came for the comments... I enjoy seeing Trump worshippers not seeing the hypocrisy surrounding their own thoughts... or lack thereof! Snoop is a damn fine national treasure and I'd roll with him any day!

I don't like that Snoop is so connected to crime and drugs... but the idea of a charismatic celebrity whose appeal spans generations is a great idea. If they figure out what his bits will be and they get one or two to go viral...that would bring a lot of new eyes to track.

He never ran track. I don't see other sports coverage doing what NBC is doing with him.

That was insane during the Mens 3000M steeple final, makes zero sense, they should have had him smoking a joint too.

He could learn a little, but his appreciation for the sport is cool. I have to admit, I did laugh at the sheer randomness of Snoop Dogg going "oh yes, I like this one, they're going off the tippy top" when he was at the steeple chase final. I mean he took cooking seriously when he worked with Martha Stewart on that series, he could be just a little more insighftul, yes, so it doesn't look so transparent as a publicity stunt. i don't hate it

Maybe have him interact with the athletes like Leslie Jones did in Rio?
